JUSTICE! — Cop Found Guilty After Video Showed him Shoot and Kill an Unarmed Man for No Reason

Paradise, CA — In a rare semblance of justice, a cop who shot and killed an unarmed man for no reason as he climbed from a wrecked car, was found guilty on Tuesday. For shooting and killing 26-year-old Andrew Thomas, officer Patrick Feaster was found guilty Tuesday of involuntary manslaughter.

Last Thanksgiving, Thomas made a deadly decision to get behind the wheel after he’d been drinking. With his 23-year-old wife, Darien Ehorn in the passenger’s seat, Thomas left the Canteena Bar and was immediately pursued by Feaster.

In a pursuit that barely lasted a minute, Thomas loses control of his Toyota Four-Runner, hit the median and flipped over. Tragically, Ehorn was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene.

Officer Feaster then gets out of his vehicle, gun drawn, and as Thomas attempts to get out of the vehicle, in a likely attempt to check on his wife, the cop shoots him in the neck. Weeks later, Thomas would die from the gunshot wounds.

Thomas posed absolutely no threat to the officer who was 10-20 feet away from Thomas when he fired. There was no possible way the department could spin the shooting into Feaster somehow fearing for his life. So, they did something entirely different.

They claimed it was an accident.

Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey announced in December that Feaster would not face any charges, claiming that Feaster’s gun merely “went off” when it struck Thomas in the neck.

If this truly were an accidental shooting, Feaster would have probably reported firing his gun. But that didn’ happen.

When backup arrived on the scene, Feaster said nothing of discharging his firearm. For 11 minutes, Thomas lay bleeding out in the vehicle before anyone even found the shot.

Only when the commanding officer on the scene suggested an investigator return to the Canteena to find out if Thomas had been shot at the bar did Feaster reveal he’d pulled the trigger.

According to Ramsey, there were multiple factors investigators used to determine the shooting to be accidental, conveniently ignoring the fact that Feaster tried to cover it up.

Ramsey, in some weird play on words, said the evidence shows the shooting to be accidental, and possibly negligent, but not criminally so. “This shooting is not justified, but also not criminal.”

He then went on to describe things that are not at all present in the video, such as Feaster being “surprised by the gun’s firing.”

“The dash cam video shows Officer Feaster was not prepared for and was surprised by the guns firing. The pistol discharges in mid-stride and the officer both flinches his head to the right and does a stutter step indicative of an officer not prepared for nor intentionally firing his pistol. Additionally, officers normally train to fire a minimum of two shots. There was no second shot and the officer immediately holstered his weapon after the discharge.”

The flinch and the step were not present, and, there was no need to fire a second shot as Thomas collapsed back into the vehicle immediately after the first one.

In spite of these initial attempts by the DA to let Feaster off scot free, he had a change of heart when met with serious backlash from protesters and Feaster was finally charged and tried.

The jury of seven men and five women returned the verdict after one day of deliberations. The guilty verdict was read just before noon Tuesday.

“Going through it, it was like we were just going through a fog and it was just so much being thrown at us,” one of Thomas’ younger sisters, Elisabeth Woodward said to KRCTV, adding, “I’m so glad that he was found guilty.” Another sister, Cassandra Roller said, “{I’m} Very glad he was found guilty! Extremely happy,”

Ramsey said he was pleased, too, according to the report. “We’re grateful that the jury, in this case, found the just verdict and the just verdict was of course, finding him guilty of the involuntary manslaughter. “It’s also validation of the standard that we should have in our county, as well as the nation that such shooting is… someone will be held accountable for and Mr. Feaster was held accountable,” said Ramsey.

The defense, however, was not sharing in the joy. “I’m in utter shock and disbelief by this jury’s verdict. We’re quite frankly appalled by it,” said Paul Goyette, Patrick Feaster’s attorney. “We’re gonna try to understand it, get as much information as we can over the coming days and evaluate all of our options, but it’s extraordinarily disappointing. Patrick, our client, is devastated by it. I think it’s clearly the wrong decision.”

According to Feaster’s attorney, Feaster should have been able to kill Thomas and not face any consequences. Even if it was truly an accident, that defense is worthless as this cop’s negligence still led to the needless loss of life.

Officer found guilty of cold blooded murder sentenced to paid leave

  • Nocamo

He fired more than one shot. Acted like this was a video game. Sickening.

  • Blaine

    waiting for the sentencing…..

  • Lionel Bodhi Dyer

Let’s wait and see if he is even going to get jailed and for how many months or years. How many times have cops gotten a slap on the wrist for such killings? Maybe too many to count….
It’s encouraging that the police and the court have not been able to bury this case like so many others.

    • The Cat’s Vagina

You’re right – I’m betting probation and community service are the Blue Discount price for casually executing another human being. Why the fuck was his gun even drawn in the first place unless he was HOPING for the chance to use it?

      • Guest

        I was thinking “time served”.

      • Ed

He learned you can’t arrest anyone without showing your gun!
He deserves 5 years as my toilet!

        • billdeserthills

          And bidet

        • Rev. Walking Turtle

“He deserves 5 years as my toilet!”

A sentiment duly noted and (to some degree) empathized-with. Then arises a few practical considerations…

Such as: Do I deserve the problems that will surely arise within my own home from harboring such a creep as THAT PIG in MY lavatory? Would I need to chain him to the Porcelain Throne so’s to prevent his committing further mayhem upon my own sweet home and person? (Probably.) And what would he DO once put to the Duty…? (Bet he’d bite…)

Or should he be put to the Duty in my own living room (on a rubber sheet, which would be a RADICAL change of decor, mind you) so I can use my own lavatory in peace whenever I want to, instead? (Same question re the chains, of course. Only more challenging due to fewer attachment points).

Or instead, should I build an outhouse out back, just for that scumbag? What are the odds of my being issued a permit for that construction by my friendly local Building Commissioner? (Oh wait wait there is already a fine tool shed back there; I could move all those things into the garage and park in the driveway for the Duration,I suppose…)

All in all, speaking strictly for my own peaceable self, it seems more like right that such a tinpot asshole as that one should spend as much time in the enforced company of as many other similar assholes as the statutes may permit. And allowed the use of one stainless steel toilet (that flushes automatically AND doubles as a sink) for the Duration. And allowed as much as an hour a day under the open sky, rain and shine alike, albeit STILL in a cage.

Less trouble for the Rest of Us that way, for my own hard-won money. YMMV, of course. And that is all. 0{;-o[

    • tracy Smith

Like white folks always say when a person of color is murdered by those race soldiers “He Should Have Complied With The Officers Demands.

      • Augie Janke

Well Tracy Smith you aren’t smart enough to see that there was NO commands given. You want white people to OVERLOOK dumb ass black people that get THEMSELVES killed either by fighting or pulling a gun.

        • tracy Smith

Well Angie you aren’t to smart not to see all those videos of whites fighting cops as well as getting in shootouts with them and they still come out alive. So please go tell somebody else that bull sh*t.Even though whites fight and shooting it out with the cops they still can’t seem to get THEMSELVES killed for fighting back and FIRING a gun either.

  • robotbroken

I noticed that when the other officers arrive that Officer Patrick Feaster was still busy for several minutes shining his flashlight along the ground trying to find his shell casing to recover, instead of attending to the accident. He was trying to hide his guilt immediately.
There is no way that this was an accidental discharge!

    • John Cokos

Securing the ‘CRIME SCENE’ is an age old law enforcement after thought, if you get my drift on this. Most criminal are not smart enough for that much presence of mind,
      this one was….

    • Anthony Tanas

Maybe he did fire more than once, found all shell casings but one, and when unable to find last one admits to the shooting.

      • Ed

That’s why all ammo used by cops should have a serial number to Identify the shooter.

  • Abz B Zbas

if his weapon “accidentally” discharged he should be fired anyway for not having control of a deadly weapon.

  • Dark_Space

Why did the cop pull him over in the first place? Leaving a bar doesn’t seem like a high enough hurdle to pull someone over and I didn’t see him driving erratically until he was being pursued by a guy who ultimately murdered him (which makes running seem reasonable). So, did the officer contribute to the wife’s death too?

  • James Burns

he just walked up and shot him for no reason

    • sonny freeman

He isn’t the first or last person murdered by a cop for know reason other than the sexual thrill cops get from killing people,Cop in TENNESSEE said after killing an unarmed man said, it was sweeter than sex,He was given a promotion two weeks after he killed the man,

  • Amor Terra

Sure looked like two shots to me. Disgusting pig.

  • Myc Cizzle

Any one he was looking for the shell casings?

  • Kountry Bumpkin

We have investigated ourselves and have come to the conclusion that nobody is going to buy total innocents so we’ve deemed the murder an accident.

    • Augie Janke

When a read accident I almost fell over….there is NO signs of an accident! He didn’t seem to concerned after he shot him twice. Instead of saying on the radio I shot a suspect on accident he seeks to cover it

  • Giovanni Pincoletti

After six minutes of walking around looking for the spent shell casing, the fat pig finally decides to call for medical assistance. The sad fact is that there is a sea of morons that want to become cops and it is morons that usually apply and get to carry guns.

There was no reason for his gun to be drawn. Instead of thinking about helping, he began shooting. The stupidity of this moron is further demonstrated when he states that there is a person in the car that refuses to get out. He neglected to say the person had a bullet in his neck. Save us from these creeps!

    • John Cokos

His lack of concern of this Officer was just a typical mindset of the sociopathic mindset of armed roughs who now call themselves Law Enforcement.
Maybe all that fat just settled into his brain cells causing some sort of mental impairment….?

  • Russell Mohr

no one hates the pigs more than me and i hate to say it but its pretty obvious the gun went off accidentally as he was bringing he weapon up…there’s no way the first shot hit anything…..stop the video
at the point where smoke is coming out the barrel….the gun is pointing up and to the left as he was bringing it up ino shooting position……i believe this idiot didnt think there was anyway the victim was struck thats why he didnt check……for someone shot in the neck he looked like he just ducked back in the vehicle…..involuntary manslaughter was he right call in this case…my condolances to the victims family,,,,,ll,,,danger-russ

    • Ed

      Time for glasses!

      • Russell Mohr

really…..its time fr you to pay closer attention……see my latest post….

      • billdeserthills

        And a brain transplant!

    • billdeserthills

There is no such thing as an ‘accidental discharge’ of a gun because guns do not jump up and pull their own triggers
If a gun were discharged in a negligent fashion, that would not be an accident, unless it fired itself–Get it now??

      • John Cokos

Yep, unless it was a very sensitive firing mechanism, (Barretta?) you need to squeeze the trigger. They don’t think for themselves.

      • Russell Mohr

https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/dc07c132d37de8f69f517807c1e394dca6fd2c45c41d0ca420a73d3a6c8078bf.jpg i guess you shoul look the word up before you spout off..oh wait i’ll do it…the root word accidental means not on purpose….this pig did not purposely fire his weapon….he didnt even bring the gun all the way to his other hand before it went off….and anyone who has accidentally fired a weapon know that one accidental shot is often times followed by another …..and very quickly…not bam!!!…..bam!!….but bambam!!!

        • billdeserthills

An actual accidental discharge would require the gun to fire while nobody was touching the trigger–somewhere between extremely rare and never happened–You see, when someone pulls the trigger of a gun and the gun fires, that isn’t an ‘accident’ any longer, because that is an ‘on purpose event’

    • John Cokos

Russ, what planet did you come from before crash landing in your flying saucer ?

      • Russell Mohr

the planet called reality…….if you weren’t so busy trying to be cute you can see the firstdhot went of a split second after he pulled it out…check my last post for proof from the video….the second shot was from he being startled from the first not an unusual occurrence ,in fact the dumbss probably didnt even realize his gun went off the first time and thought he was being shot at…..

  • Guy

To me the real tragedy will be this cop will not serve one day in Prison ! After appeals are filed, time will tick out for one or two more years, then the whole case will be swept under the rug, and quietly closed ! Cop will be fired or resign and move away, quietly. Family will be bought off. DA will look like hero and that folks will be American Justice

  • Beauford T. Justice

Slap on the wrist is all that’ll happen to this fuckface.

  • Ed

This pig deserves 5 years as my door mat!

  • freewheelinfranklin543

Involuntary Manslaughter! What a joke! I see probation and expungement and maybe a pardon in his future. How about 1st degree Murder Under Color of Law.

  • John Cokos

“Involuntary Manslaughter” is almost a Get Out of Jail Free card. That was a coldblooded an execution as I’ve seen. Gets off a round, re-holster his weapon, and walk forward all in about 2 or 3 seconds like it never happened. Definitely the hallmark of the psychopathic personality.

  • Ibcamn

a fat worthless typical criminal cop…………just wanted to murder someone,no care as to who, just wanted to kill him…all cops are criminals, every last one of them, this POS is the typical road pirate….”pow…got him”,no warning,no reason.no care about ruining the victims life or their family, fat cop stain likely went home slept like a fat sweaty baby…and then lied about this, cops are corrupt and prove it every day.
and you know he will likely get a slap on the wrist, told never do it again, and then he will get a cop job somewhere else after his paid vacation and time off for good behavior….no justice to the murder victim at all……

  • Anthony Tanas

Guns don’t just “go off”. They fire when the trigger is pulled. So at best this was negligence but not an accident.

  • Rev. Walking Turtle

Oh, so that pistol “went off” in that fool’s hand, all causeless and without recognizable antecedent, such as the cop first chambering a round and then pulling the trigger? Odd to note that a similar “Just Haaa-aa-appened” excuse is commonly employed by practically all non-cops caught in the act – ANY criminal act – and immediately questioned.

Fact: The more I look at all the incident/excuse pairings I have been put through in a 60-year lifetime-thus-far, the more certain I become that the criminal mind is, at base, either incapable or unwilling to recognize the Immutable Law of Cause and Effect. The which is one of the eternal cornerstones of Natural Law. The which is universally denied, it has become plain, by politicians and (other) criminals of all stripes, all across the board.

Like a Litmus Test for good/bad character! The which is like unto PURE GOLD in today’s world imvho. And that is all. 0{;-)o[

  • OvidiuGOA

So you only get 5 years in prison for murder in the U.S.

  • Steven Bullock

I’m near 60 years old and have backed police my entire life. Watching the police officer blatantly shoot and kill the driver of said video sickened me more than the five years I worked in Afghanistan. I would hope that the family of the driver would be able to see the killer of their young son be incarcerated for a time that coincides with people convicted for premeditated murder!

  • tracy Smith

Oh no wonder he was convicted he killed a white boy no pig would EVER get that charge when they murder a person of color.

  • Russell Mohr

all you have to do is look closely and you can see the gun goes off a split second after he pulls it out of the holster the second shot was a reaction from the first because the first discharge from the gun he probably didn’t even know happened and tought he was being shot at…that’s why he was looking on the ground for casings ….i don’t think the dumbass realized ir went off,,,,what i have circled from in the video is the soke from the first shot that went off about hip level to his side….you can see the flash….and that is the smoke i have circled before anyone tries saying its a discoloration in the video…it is not…..danger-russ https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/941f01b7d77948972e144f864e268c16667288a60cd109c853244d9a9d65f6a9.jpg

  • Ed

Paul Goyette, Patrick Feaster’s attorney is an Asshole!

  • David Hall

It was in the transcript that he told the cop “why did you shoot me” when he kept looking down into the vehicle. Thomas told two other cops he had been shot also. That fat fuck shot him on purpose. You’re blind if you can’t slow the video down and see he shot him on purpose. He knew he fucked up instantly and started the coverup, by looking for the shell. And BTW he fired one shot, not two.

  • David Hall

Then when one cop said send someone to the bar to see if you can find out who shot him. Fat Fuck Feaster finally told them after 11 minutes. He will get probation and a few community hours. He killed Andy and his wife. Sitting outside the bar, which is illegal in CA, then caused him to wreck where his wife died and then shot and killed Andy. Cold blooded murder.

  • Augie Janke

To bad we didn’t hear about this! Why? Because he is WHITE

  • Brett Rapley

Do you bastards think people are stupid ? Accidental discharge, bullshit, he just pulled his gun out and shot the guy, didn’t give a fuck about him getting out. How fucking dare you even think people are that blind ! That cop didn’t step back in the slightest, he was covering his own arse and nothing more. So if the cop didn’t shoot the guy, who the hell did ? I hope that cop gets more than he bargains for in prison. He deserves to get life for what he did.
