WATCH: Cop Stomps Handcuffed Man’s Face Into the Street – This is Why People are Mad

Gwinnett County, GA — A disturbing video was shared with the Free Thought Project through email Wednesday, which shows a Georgia police officer stomp a handcuffed and entirely compliant man’s face into the street. Shockingly enough, this is the second such video submitted to the Free Thought Project this week.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon and details are sparse. However, what is entirely clear is the fact that this man was no threat at all when a cop ran over to him and stomped on his head.

The video was posted to Facebook by Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta. As it begins, it shows an officer pulling a man from a car and placing him in handcuffs. As the officer throws the man to the ground, the man can be heard apparently pleading with the officer but doing nothing violent.

After he was thrown to the ground, the man is subdued, handcuffed, and not resisting in the least. In fact, the officer who threw him to the ground then stands up, steps away and begins radioing in.

Just as the initial officer backs away, however, a second officer, completely unprovoked, comes running up to the handcuffed man and stomps on his head. After his fellow officer stomps the man’s head, the initial cop helps pile on top of the man in handcuffs — as if being kicked in the face somehow just made him a threat.

One of the officers even yells, “Stay down!” as the man makes no attempt to get up.

According to Maejor Page, the President of Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta, this incident happened on Sugarloaf Parkway outside Lawrenceville, around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Page told the Daily News that the maker of the video provided the clip to his organization shortly after the incident occurred. The officers involved are with the Gwinnett County police department, he said.

“We are DEMANDING that Gwinnett County Police Department immediately terminate this officer who viciously kicked a HANDCUFFED BLACK MAN lying on the ground in the middle of the street (off Sugarloaf Parkway) without cause and without merit,” Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta’s Facebook post reads. “After brutally kicking him in the face, blood splattered everywhere.”

This is why we take to the streets and scream #BlackLivesMatter, it’s because American police officers have ZERO regards for black lives, they beat us, shoot and kill us without a blink of an eye and the biggest problem is, it all goes UNCHALLENGED.

According to the Daily News, a spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County police declined to comment when reached by The News late Wednesday, only saying she was “not familiar” with the incident.

“We’re all trying to make sense of this but you can’t really make sense to such a kick to the face,” Page said. “We don’t know what happened, we don’t know what type of suspect this is, but this is going to have to be dealt with — we’re going to demand some answers on this.”

After watching the brutal video below, answers are most assuredly needed.

What makes the video above even more disturbing is the fact that it’s the second one in just four days to be submitted to the Free Thought Project depicting a nearly identical scenario.

In the other video, a cop is seen ‘curb-stomping’ a man as he lays face down on the concrete in handcuffs. This one took place in Columbus, Ohio.

According to the Columbus Police department, the man being assaulted in the video is Demarco Anderson. He was accused by police of having fired a weapon at a nearby house. However, nothing he could’ve done justifies what happened to him once he was placed in handcuffs.

As the video begins, one officer appears to have the man under control as he puts handcuffs on the soon-to-be victim. After the cuffs go on, that’s when a second officer comes running up and stomps his face into the curb.

After we broke that video, the department informed us that this cop had been pulled off street duty, noting that his conduct was “inconsistent with the values and training we instill in our officers.”

After watching both of these videos, appearing within just a few days of each other, it seems police are enjoying their new lack of oversight handed down to them from Trump’s Attorney General, Jeff Sessions — whose promised to stop investigating police misconduct — in exchange for more drug war.

Before anyone points out that these men broke the law, get your tongue of the jackboots and try to remember what a cop’s job actually IS. Police are supposed to apprehend suspects and present them to a court of law for trial and punishment – they are NOT allowed under any circumstance to administer a little “street justice” whenever they feel like it.

If you support (or even just don’t care about) this sort of thing, then you will never be safe. NOBODY goes a day in this country without breaking one of the countless laws and regulations we have to live by, so one day it could be YOUR ass face-down on the pavement, getting your face smashed for no other reason than that you asked too many questions about why you’re being arrested.

But Cat, we don’t know the WHOLE story. The video doesn’t show what led up to the incident. 😉

        *grins gamely* I’ll cut you!

      • LawrenceNeal

No, but it does show when the man was taken out of the car. What came before is not relevant once he’s on the ground with his hands cuffed.

        • Abz B Zbas

I was being sarcastic. “The video doesn’t show what led up to the incident” is a phrase commonly used by police to excuse abusive behavior.

This cop needs to be arrested and charged with 1st degree assault, and serve jail time, as there was no justification for this. This is why people hate cops and don’t trust them, as they have always been doing these kinds of things, just now everybody has a camera and they are getting caught, as even the judge cannot deny video evidence and just take the cops word, like they always used to do.

  • JW Mack

I don’t see the problem here. Comply with the police, shut your mouth or get curb stomped. Right? They are The law! Isn’t this what the sheeple keep telling us?

  • Craig Winans

They’v been doing this crap long before Trump came into office. Trying to blame his admin for this takes all credibility away from the author.

why are these pages filled with rubbish?

It was announced today that 2 of the officers involved in the incident were fired. Also, a 2nd video shows one of the officers punch the man in the face while he holds his hands in the air. Perhaps Matt will do an update to this story.
