Cops Work for Corporate America as Oppressive Mercenaries for the 1% Says Retired Police Captain

“It’s an oppressive organization now controlled by the one percent of corporate America. Corporate America is using police forces as their mercenaries.”

Ferguson, Mo. – Retired Philadelphia Police Captain, Ray Lewis, has a message for America. In a recent interview, Lewis makes it known that gone are the days of the police working for the people.

According to Lewis,

“It’s an oppressive organization now controlled by the one percent of corporate America. Corporate America is using police forces as their mercenaries.”

Lewis gained notoriety when he crossed the blue line and came out to demonstrate in full uniform at the Occupy Wall St. protests and was arrested along with hundreds of others.

Lewis has called out law enforcement on their overly aggressive tactics saying,

“You should, by law, only use force to protect someone’s life or to protect them from being bodily injured. If you’re not protecting somebody’s life or protecting them from bodily injury, there’s no need to use force.”

With the events in Ferguson, Lewis has once again come forward to stand in solidarity with those he sees being oppressed. Lewis wants America to understand that the police are an oppressive force that has been unleashed on the common man by their corporate overlords. For his part, Lewis claims that he is doing what any good cop would do.

“Number one, I want to give the residents of Ferguson the knowledge that there are some police that do support them,” said Lewis. “I want to try and get a message to mainstream America that that this system is corrupt, that police really are oppressing not only the black community, but also the whites,” he added.

In such divisive times it’s important for people to realize this isn’t a black vs. white issue, but a blue vs everyone issue. When a former cop is willing to cross the “thin blue line” in an attempt to help wake people up to the reality of the American police state, the least we can do is help him spread this important message by sharing his words of wisdom in hopes of awakening others.
