WATCH: Ron Paul Weighs in on Trump Presidency — Beware of the ‘Shadow Government’

Former Texas U.S. Representative Ron Paul has issued a warning, on the heels of president elect Donald Trump’s successful bid for the White House, to beware of the shadow government pulling political scenes behind closed doors. Paul made his remarks on RT, with Peter Lavelle.

Lavelle asked Paul what foremost issues should be on the mind of Trump right now. Paul answered, “who he appoints to the cabinet,” should be one of the first things the billionaire turned politician must address. Paul referenced several statements Trump made wherein he waffled a bit and said, “Who knows what he promised!” with respect to foreign policy.

Paul, when asked about Obama’s appointees then switched gears and addressed what we at The Free Thought Project have warned about. “Quite frankly, there’s an outside source which we refer to as the Deep State or a Shadow Government. There’s a lot of influence by people that are actually more powerful than our government itself,” he said referring to U.S. meddling with international elections around the world.

“Trump is his own guy…but I fear the fact that there’s so much that can be done secretly out of the control of our apparent government and out of the view of so many citizens,” Paul said. Paul then referenced the false flags the government has promulgated and said those things are outside of the president’s (Trump’s) control. Paul is one of the few who’ve spoken out against politicians using “school shootings” to promote their anti-gun agendas while ignoring indiscriminate bombing of civilians in the Middle East such as the bombing of the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan.

Paul called Obama’s designation as a winner of The Nobel Peace Prize a “contradiction” and says the U.S. needs to get more troops out of the Middle East. “We need to know what the government is thinking and I apply that to all governments,” as he applauded the work of Wikileaks and Edward Snowden. “We should be protecting the privacy of individuals, law abiding citizens, and make sure government is open and no secrets but I’m challenging all of history because that’s generally, not the way it’s been.” As The Free Thought Project has reported, Paul believes Snowden should be granted Clemency for his patriotic, not espionage related revelations that the U.S. government was spying on all citizens.

“My greatest disappointment was with this renewing of the so-called Cold War,” Paul told Lavelle. “I think there’s a lot that the Russian people could share, and I think that’s true,” he added referencing the Obama administration’s ratcheting up of tensions between the U.S. and Russia. “People never want the war,” he said adding Trump was the peace candidate between the U.S. and Russia. He said the Deep State controls the media and beats the war drums which crank up tension between the two countries by “participating in the war propaganda.”

“If the government’s not acting right, it’s the secret government, it’s the shadow government, it’s the CIA and the false flags and the accidents that happen and then the people get angry, because if you don’t get angry at your enemies, then you’re unpatriotic, and we all have to be patriotic, but we can be patriotic and friends too!” he exclaimed mixing sarcasm, with reality, finishing with an appeal to be friends with our enemies.

Paul says he’s optimistic because the media and the government have been exposed. “Don’t believe the government,” Paul implored. He said he wants government to “be very very small” and said if we did we would have a “more peaceful world.”

On ISIS, Paul said, “I don’t think we should accelerate the war against ISIS, because I think the war is artificial.” Lavelle wanted Paul to comment on Trump’s idea to work with Russia as an ally against ISIS. He said ISIS’ success in the Middle East is a result of “bad foreign policy.” He said under Obama the U.S.’ military industrial complex “sold more weapons” under his administration than any other president in U.S. history.

Let me clear this once and for all, Trump IS the status quo!

  • Sarah Faroon

There are two kinds of rights ie the human rights(something to do with UN) and natural rights. Natural rights are then divided into positive and negative natural rights. Being hateful and discriminating against others, as long as it’s not violence or coercion, is a natural right, even though a negative one. For example, not selling a cake to an LGBT/Muslim/Afro-American/others or not wanting to associate with them is perfectly okay and it is your natural right. They don’t have to and the fact that it hurts some people and they make a big deal out of it, they’re either not comfortable in their skin or just looking for excuses.

I understand that Trump and his fellow rednecks don’t like us(and I am a Muslim by the way) and want to ban us from entering the United States. It’s their natural right, it doesn’t matter if it’s a negative right or if it’s based on ignorance and prejudice. But he became a president which means now he can enforce his views on others via coercion. This is equivalent to what was done to African Americans decades/century ago. Merely hating on someone is not a crime. But intimidation, forcing, violence & coercion are! And now he’s in a position to do just that.

This violates both natural and human rights. What I don’t get is why they let him run for president. He should’ve been disqualified by the GOP the moment he publicly announced his intentions during his campaign and should’ve broken all ties with him. What makes me mad is that a lot of Republican leaders like Ted Cruz & Rand Paul, more stronger candidates who had totally different views, supported & endorsed him just for sake of the party, just because they didn’t want Democrats to have another term.

Why wasn’t he disqualified? Because he IS the status quo! President is a very powerful position and letting a hateful prejudiced bigot run for it is not democratic at all.

I totally understand your frustration and worry, but don’t fall into “People of Power” trap. This is what they want and how they keep people slaves… get the masses afraid and they’ll blindly follow… both parties use similar tactics. “Red Tie, Blue Tie, Pick Your Lie”. The only way I see us becoming truly free is to start a new party and system… this one is only working for the top and that’s by design in the constitution. It was never meant to free the people, but create a system where the elite rule over the slaves. Nothing new and that’s the problem… clinging to an antiquated system is folly.

      • Sarah Faroon

Yes but Trump is violating their own rules and regulations and they still let him run. Why? And there’s already a third party

        • Dean Olejniczak

Rules are for the non-elite; there are countless examples. This is nothing new and that’s the problem. The third parties in america are starting to get some traction, but with the people so fixated and conditioned to go with the Rep and Dems. Once people realize that the president is less important then the “Shadow Government” Ron Paul’s term… there is little hope for change. When was the last time an expose on big money running the world was on Main Street Media? Almost never… we have a system where the gov, big bus, and media work hand in hand… it’s a cartel. Until people figure this out, it will be business as usual.

Dr John Coleman’s seminar on YT discussed the committee of 300 and names the names of the inner circle of ruling controllers. Unfamiliar names. Certainly worth a look.

Ron Paul’s 2002 Predictions All Come True – Incredible Video!

This video is a famous Ron Paul speech from April 24, 2002 where he makes a series of predictions, and it is juxtaposed with actual news headlines from years later that confirm his predictions all came true.

  • He is correct! Nov 24, 2015 The Deep State: The Unelected Shadow Government

America’s next president will inherit more than a bitterly divided nation. He or she will also inherit a shadow government—a permanent, corporatized, militarized, entrenched bureaucracy that is fully operational and staffed by unelected officials who are, in essence, running the country. As John W. Whitehead warns in this week’s vodcast, all it will take is another terrorist attack or a natural disaster for such a regime to emerge from the shadows.

Here’s a calling to all independent investigate journalists. Do a piece on the Shadow Government /Deep State and let’s identify these unknown destroyers of our Democracy.

  • Dean Olejniczak

One of the few “politicians” who is willing to talk about the “men behind the curtain”… thankfully… yet he gets little coverage now. Truth tellers are always subverted. Assassination no longer needed, the MSM does the dismantling for the machine.

    • T. Mohr

      The MSM needs dismantling.

      • Meet the msm. Jun. 14, 2012 These 6 Corporations Control 90% Of The Media In America

That’s consolidated from 50 companies back in 1983. But the fact that a few companies own everything demonstrates “the illusion of choice,” Frugal Dad says. While some big sites, like Digg and Reddit aren’t owned by any of the corporations, Time Warner owns news sites read by millions of Americans every year.

    • GlenBradley

Truth is treason in the empire of lies.

  • How do they rule?

    divide et impera

Divide the people you rule and have them fight amongst themselves. You see this every day and the two party system is just part of it.

    panem et circenses

Give them bread and circuses to distract them. Give the poor food and shelter so that they don’t revolt and provide everyone with lots of entertainment to distract them and they will not bother with what you do behind the scenes.

And finally, and here is the big one, simply pay the people. What do I mean by this statement you might ask? Well, for example, when a police officer is told to arrest a protester, he is simply doing his job. He has the right to refuse to do his job, but then he also has the right to lose his means of providing for himself and for his family also. It is a means of bribery; do your job or you’ll lose your way of life. This means that those that have less money, are wage slaves to those that have more of it or control it. We have seen what people will do for money and will continue to do for money. You can apply this to just about any job, don’t do your “job” and you’ll lose your way of living.

But there is a solution, get rid of it. No more money means no more rule from those that possess the most of it or control it. All of their power and all of their wealth, it is simply an illusion and once the people realize this, their house or cards will come crashing down all around them.

  • Steve Rusk

Shadow government? We are a capitalist society, a republic (aka Totalitarian Democracy) designed to support a ruling oligarchy. You can call it a meritocracy, the Illuminati, The New World Order… the list goes on. The point is that these vast concentrations of wealth and power exist by design outside of any public oversight or Democratic influence. Once these mountains of gold surpass what’s necessary to satisfy the greed for material possessions then the lust for power takes over and there is far more than enough financial concentration to fuel designs of this nature.
It is the epitome of hypocrisy for one so close to this power play to let on like this is an unexpected or undesirable development when these conditions exist by design. Still it’s worth noting that he even mentions it in this manner when so many others in these circles deny it emphatically or dismiss it as a conspiracy theory.
