BREAKING: Standing Rock Tribal Council Betrays Water Protectors, Sends In Cops

Law enforcement showed up at LaDonna Tamakawastewin Allard’s front door on Thursday, claiming the need to perform an “assessment” of the Camp of the Sacred Stones — the original Dakota Access Pipeline opposition camp erected in early April — but refused to offer a warrant or explanation for the sudden appearance.

Worse, as livestream video revealed, authorities came to Allard’s private property at the behest of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe council’s request — meaning the invasion of property without explanation marks a complete betrayal of trust between tribal officials and water protectors still determined to halt the pipeline.

Johnny Dangers, a livestreamer who has resided in the camps to document the ongoing battle against Big Oil, captured what he termed a “raid” on live video, with officials from the ATF, Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Standing Rock division of Fish and Wildlife, tribal police, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers surveying Allard’s property while refusing to answer questions regarding legality of their visit.

Considering the raid performed Wednesday night on a newly erected camp meant to keep pipeline opposition going while avoiding the dangers of the spring snow melt, the only possible purpose of assessing private property would be reconnaissance for a future attempt by law enforcement to shut down Sacred Stone.

“Frank White Bull and Ben Harrison were said to be with law enforcement during the raid, which is the latest in a series of betrayals from the Standing Rock Sioux tribal council against water protectors,” reports The Daily Haze. “Allard has been very outspoken in regards to the deceit by the tribal council in the previous weeks.”

Indeed, shortly after law enforcement bullied its way onto her property — threatening to arrest people who stood inside Allard’s front gate — the outspoken critic of Dakota Access and head of Sacred Stone wrote in a post to Facebook,

“We have been betrayed by Standing Rock Tribal Council.”

As Dangers livestreamed, BIA officials surveyed Allard’s property without proffering a warrant or offering explanation beyond the aforementioned murky “assessment.”

Authorities could be seen walking through Sacred Stone — until Dangers’ feed conveniently dropped. Although proof has yet to surface, water protectors and independent journalists who lack satellite equipment surmise law enforcement regularly employs Stingray and even jammers to prevent live video of contentious incidents from being seen in real time.

Dangers questioned an official from the Bureau of Indian Affairs on scene, who refused to offer any impetus for the assessment and heavy presence of government and tribal authorities on Allard’s land.

Members of the Standing Rock Tribe council, the North Dakota governor’s office, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and a coalition of police led by the Morton County Sheriff’s Department have attempted for months to persuade remaining water protectors to evacuate camps which lie in a floodplain — and will thus be submerged by water in early spring.

That effort recently ramped up with the inauguration of Donald Trump, a vocal advocate of Big Oil and proponent of both the Dakota Access Keystone XL Pipelines. Energy Transfer Partners — whose CEO, Kelcy Warren, contributed over $100,000 to Trump’s campaign — is slated to be granted an easement by the Army Corps to proceed with drilling under the Missouri River.

It has long been rumored in Standing Rock that law enforcement and National Guard would find a way to raid camps and arrest water protectors, and though a fledgling camp was raided in autumn, Wednesday’s action to clear nascent Last Child Camp, in which dozens were arrested — and the calm but warrantless ‘assessment’ of Allard’s private Sacred Stone Camp — portend likely future raids of all remaining camps.

Trump’s recent executive order greenlighting the remaining and most controversial portion of Dakota Access intimates an unstated goal of complete evacuation of Dakota Access Pipeline opposition at Standing Rock.

Unfortunately, as Dangers captured on video, the biggest betrayal of all hasn’t come from the U.S. government, despite its lengthy history of genocide and violence against Native Americans.

No, the most painful betrayal came in tribe members standing in lockstep with government officials — at the front door of another respected and dedicated member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.

It appears the Tribal Council has set itself up for a changing of the guard. This is not only a betrayal of the tribal membership. Not long ago, Tribal Council decided to “pay it’s own bills” rather than use contributions (cash and goods) to support water protectors, as was clearly stated in their own “call to action”. This is a betrayal of the water protectors and a fraud perpetrated on all those who donated to the cause. First, they should have refunded money to contributors or announced that good faith donations would be redistributed to some charitable use. Second, an audit must be done to determine precisely which “Tribal” bills were paid. Can you say ‘accountability’? Given the betrayal of the tribe and water protectors as a whole, Tribal Council has shown they are devoid of Honor. It could be that some on the Tribal Council have been enriched PERSONALLY; certainly contributors from around the world have been defrauded. Tribal Council, if that is what they really are, has misappropriated good faith contributions and there is no more accountability than can be had from many other “public servants” in this country. The government of the United States is not the only player to have cast a “shadow” over this once Honorable assemblage. I guess this tribe; or at least it’s council, have embraced some of the same dis-Honor historically visited upon them. It can now be said tribal governance cannot be trusted any more than the Feds! CALL TO ACTION: Tribal members…you NEED a new council!

      “Can you say ‘accountability’?”

      Where would they start?

    • Warren Hilsbos

I am no expert on tribal law, but if it is anything like non-profit law, then my guess is the person to take that accusation to would be the U.S. Attorney in the jurisdiction. Just a helpful suggestion.

As Founder and Executive Director of a registered 501c3 Public Charity we must exercise due diligence to safeguard ALL contributions; cash and in-kind (goods, advertising and discounted services). As a Public Charity, we are exempt from many forms of tax and receive special fee discounts from state, local, and federal agencies who justly demand that our internal records detail precisely the disposition of said funding. All Public Charitable organizations are rightly held to a higher reporting standard because of the special treatment granted by local, state, and federal tax entities.

Therefore, such funding does not belong to me or to my corporation, it remains the property of the contributor and must be used for the purpose stated in our appeal; and, any contributor may report concerns to the IRS and ask for an investigation. That said, I do not know if the tribe is a non-profit organization.

Additionally, one does not need to be registered as a non-profit, or even as a business, to solicit contributions. There are many examples; witness the numerous on-line crowd funding sites where this sort of fund raising occurs daily. Even for non-charitable causes such as raising money to finance anything from birthday parties to major surgeries.

As always, when members of the public choose to donate, accountability can become a “bone of contention”. By way of illustration: a friend makes a personal plea for money to pay their electricity bill. Out of friendship/pity/empathy the loan/gift is granted. With the passage of time, word gets back that the money was spent for some other purpose. Personally, I consider this scenario a betrayal of my friendship, generosity, and trust. All too often, the person making the appeal, will feel that once they receive the money into their hands, the money belongs to them and they can spend it any way they choose. Basically, they take possession and claim ownership of what is essentially a charitable donation. Hence; when I am approached on that level, and I decide to grant the request…my reply goes like this: give me the bill and I will take care of it for you.

The question remains, for those who contributed to the cause of water protectors: do they have legal standing to file a complaint? If so, which entity, office, or agency has jurisdiction to conduct such an investigation? Finally, what procedure, if any, must be followed to pursue restitution? It is said, in some circles, that we are created in the image of GOD. Simultaneously, humans are by nature fallible and NOT perfect. Too often, when we strive to do what feels just, we expose ourselves to heartache and disappointment. Bottom line; it may be up to tribal members to demand an accounting from their leadership.

    • Hear hear! I know all movements have internal struggle..inevitable, but this act of betrayal by Archambault, and tribal council is the ipitamy of what wrong in this whole world.. GREED.

The tribes weren’t against the pipeline. https://www.facebook.com/TomiLahren/videos/1152842011475651/

Oh but it is UNCEDED TREATY LAND. You really put this out there? This woman is a dipshit.

    • Jahar Saddles

As fellow Native Americans, we here at JaHar Saddles recognize the fact that the DAPL is a violation of the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty, as well as a violation of Art 6, of the US Constitution and accordingly an “act of war”. We hereby offer our assistance in any capacity we are able. The Tribal council should of course always act in accordance with their own motivations, but it is suggested that they remember their duty to the future. Stand now and defend yourselves from this act of war and others all over the world will stand with them. Turn an run; and you may run alone. If you are not up to the challenge then exhibit the integrity to step aside and make room for those who are.

I don’t understand why TFTP thinks this is such a big deal.

LaDonna Tamakawastewin Allard lives on the SRST reservation, the tribe’s rules apply.

Hence I would expect the BIA to be able to enter at anytime.

Also the SRST wants all the “water-protectors” gone, as do the people living in Cannon Ball.

    • canucanoe2

WTF are you talking about? It is Allard’s PRIVATE PROPERTY! So what if it’s on the reservation.

If the town council where you live gave permission for govt officials to search… excuse me, ASSESS your property without your permission, would you be OK with that?

Nowhere in the article does it say the BIA officials were told to leave and did not comply.

You are reading way more into this than there actually is.

If you have been keeping up w/ this situation you also know that the townspeople of Cannon Ball want these water-protectors gone, and have voted for such.

        • ChenKen LuPi

Yes, there is a security gate, where none are allowed to enter if they mean harm. They are not allowed in any of the three camps. That’s part of keeping the peace, but there are very few personal guns, so camp couldn’t stop them. It’s very bad manners anyhow. Thank you free thought project. An impending raid is newsworthy. Be well

      • SickofSocialism

there was a great episode of last man standing where the city came onto the Outdoorman’s property and wanted him to cut down his own tree…. They tried every intelligent way to fight it and at the end of it all they arrived home to a tree that was cut down. You might be surprised to find out just how much say the town council has over your property depending on the township you live in. especially if you live in a nice part of California or a nice place like Holland Michigan where if you leave for an extended period of time and neglect snow, fences or weeds you likely come home to the job being taken up by a neighbor or someone else without your permission and a nice bill in your mailbox to cover expenses. Don’t believe me just ask Dianne Feinstein who violated forgot about one of her many properties here in California and ignored locals requests to clean up and was then Fined under local weed abatement ordinances. https://www.cityofsacramento.org/Community-Development/Code-Compliance/Neighborhoods/Weeds
Seems to me we have been having this issue in America since they first started laying rail road and building highways.

    • Becky Colborn

I am sure you do , it was rerouted out of your town and moved to the reservation. I believe protesters made that happen, those pesky white people.

“The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe has disavowed any perceived connection to a group of protesters, including Chase Iron Eyes, who set up a short-lived camp on private property on Wednesday.”

  • They lost this ‘supporter’ when groups associated with SOROS and ISLAM got involved… then I had to consider why criminals would join the ‘water protectors’. All those groups look to destroy this country and anybody that has any respect for humanity and real justice in the world would have nothing to do with them or even risk any association with any of them.
People had better start doing some investigation into other groups before letting them ruin anything you have worked for.
Patriots of our country should have NOTHING TO DO with those conflicts anymore because of those reasons… and if you happen to have got stuck in a conflict with nefarious ‘allies’ accidentally… RUN NOW.

Wes Clark, Jr just pulled a big scam and left the veterans there w/ no support.

      • John Westerman

That’s simply not true. No one left veterans without support, and at any rate if you came out to Standing Rock without being self-sufficient you are an idiot. I was there, I came prepared as did everyone of the rostered vets I met. But many foolish people came without the proper gear. That is not on Wes Clark Jr. Where were you Ash, comfortable at home writing comments on disqus calling us lefties libtards?

its because about 90% of the protesters where from the outside
all the outsiders where city people< making trouble and a big mess and get some DEMS envolved and there is bound to be violence

Did people fall ASLEEP in 8th Grade History Class?
The DNC pandering for the black vote. It is funny in the sick to my stomach kinda funny. The Rosa Parks bus incident took place in 1955 during the time of Jim Crow laws, initiated by democrats. The majority of democrats voted against Eisenhower’s 1957 and Johnson’s 1964 Civil Rights Act. If it were not for the Republicans both Civil Rights Acts would not have passed. And yet blacks pretty much vote in block for democrats. I just don’t get it.

. Been a Democrat all my life and never looked into the history of the Democratic party. I found out that every slave owner was a Democrat it was Republicans that abolished Slavery. Democrats were against ending slavery. The Civil Rights act was passed by Republicans & the Democrats were against it. Women’s & Blacks right to vote was passed by Republicans. Democrats were against that too. The KKK was always & still is of the Democratic party. Hillary took $20,000 from the KKK didn’t denounce them or give the money back. In fact they still use the plantation agenda with minorities. Now, the plantations are the Ghettos & Barrios and blighted Urban areas that keep the minorities & poor whites UN informed, under educated and dependent on the government so they can throw them a bone at election time to get the vote just like they’ve done throughout history. FYI not one Republican was found that ever owned a slave. Yet Blacks & Hispanics & poor whites vote Democratic in block. AGAIN! I JUST DON’T GET IT.

    • Really..? I was there in December. . Most of the water protectors have indigenous blood.

That Protest was organized by George Soros just the Ferguson the women march and every other violent protest. He pays the protesters and buses them in and is wanted in 4 countries for the CHAOS he creates. Soros has vested interest in Saudi oil and does not want Americas energy independence.

Hey, all you naive idiots out there. They did this so they would get a larger check paid to them for going through their land. Once they worked out a better deal they said, go ahead and build. You Libtards were defending a cause that never was. This will be built. The Tribe got the most money they could, life will go on for them. People will forget this even happened. Tribe = happy.

Betrayal? I doubt it. The whole thing stinks of fabrication. You believe these reports if you wish just don’t expect me to. Who says, anyway? The government are fluent in kies. This sounds typical of their miss-direction and diversionary tactics. Somebody is a sucker for sure. Just who?.
