With tensions boiling over recently in Ferguson and Baltimore, a subliminal message hidden within this AARP public service announcement is raising red flags.
The ad from AARP is seemingly a PSA about caregiving for the elderly, but hidden within the commercial is something extremely out of place and potentially sinister.
The commercial shows a woman watching the news, who then leaves the room to attend to her young daughter in the other room.
The television can be heard playing in the background at a barely audible level, with a news reporter warning of nationwide rioting and the declaration of martial law.
Riots nationwide have prompted local governments to declare martial law.
The President is asking that citizens find safety and remain calm.
Authorities are working to contain the outbreak.
The message doesn’t fit into the context of the heartwarming ad in the slightest. Stranger than that, no one in the home seems to be the least bit concerned that martial law has been declared by the President of the United States due to nationwide rioting. This begs the question, why is this strange message appearing in an AARP ad?
The AARP, formerly know as the American Association of Retired Persons, is a membership organization for people age 50 and over. It operates as a non-profit advocate for its members and is one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the United States.
The fact that this message appeared in this ad is strange enough by itself. Considering that it was meant to be almost inaudible and meant to be heard on a subconscious level, we have to consider that there is a very real possibility that the public is being intentionally psychologically conditioned for some future event.
Aside from seeming totally out of place, the commercial becomes even more troubling when taken in concert with recent events that have taken place across the U.S. in the past year.
We have seen patriots take up arms and come to the aid of rancher Cliven Bundy, forcing armed Bureau of Land Management agents to stand down, with congressman Harry Reid attempting to label the men that stood with Bundy as “domestic terrorists.”
Ferguson boiled over after the killing of Mike Brown, with Gov. Nixon declaring a state of emergency, instituting a curfew and calling in the National Guard.
Then came the video recorded killings of Eric Garner, Eric Harris, and Walter Scott, at the hands of law enforcement, which has only served to alienate much of the American public and turn public opinion against police.
Additionally, the killing of Freddie Gray has sparked the protests in Baltimore, which police actions manifested into rioting, leading to the week-long curfew and occupation by the National Guard.
With the recent announcement of Operation Jade Helm, many citizens fear these actions, under the guise of training, are actually a dry run for the imposition of martial law.
After everything that has taken place the past year, a subliminal message about rioting and martial law being declared by the President after an outbreak, appearing in a public service announcement, is potentially a cause for concern.
