Veterans Organizing “Like a Military Unit” to Defend DAPL Protesters from Militarized Police

Resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) is about to get a major boost. On Dec. 4, U.S. military veterans — possibly numbering in the hundreds — plan to gather “like a military unit” to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Having witnessed the police state brutality inflicted on Native Americans attempting to protect sacred land and natural resources, the former service members feel compelled to stand with the Standing Rock Sioux.

According to the Veterans for Standing Rock GoFundMe page:

We are veterans of the United States Armed Forces, including the U.S. Army, United States Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard and we are calling for our fellow veterans to assemble as a peaceful, unarmed militia at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation on Dec 4-7 and defend the water protectors from assault and intimidation at the hands of the militarized police force and DAPL security.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard from Hawaii, a combat war veteran, will be joining the act of resistance, according to the Facebook page Veterans Stand for Standing Rock.

As Task and Purpose notes, federal government ignored their duty under the National Historic Preservation Act to consult the Standing Rock Sioux before approving DAPL. Some of the pipeline construction will take place on sacred land that was taken from the tribe over the past 150 years, and the pipeline will be buried under the tribe’s drinking water source.

While federal government abandoned Native Americans once again, law enforcement are acting as militarized protection services for Energy Transfer Partners, the Texas-based company behind the 1,170-mile pipeline. State and local governments are set to reap millions in taxes once the oil begins flowing.

Numerous violent crackdowns have already been carried out by cops in riot gear – drenching protestors with water cannons in freezing temperatures, blowing arms apart with concussion grenades, choking protestors with tear gas and sending people into cardiac arrest.

This country is repressing our people,” said Michael Wood, a Marine Corps veteran and former Baltimore police officer. “If we’re going to be heroes, if we’re really going to be those veterans that this country praises, well, then we need to do the things that we actually said we’re going to do when we took the oath to defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic.

The main man behind it all is Wes Clark, Jr., son of Gen. Wesley Clark, a former Supreme Allied Commander who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004. Clark Sr. called for action on climate change, and this motivation is also driving his son to fight against DAPL.

Wes Clark, Jr., is best known as a co-host for the Young Turks, and sees the Dec. 4 resistance at DAPL as “the most important event up to this time in human history.

“We’re not going out there to get in a fight with anyone. They can feel free to beat us up, but we’re 100% nonviolence.”

Clark and Wood say they are prepared to take a bullet for the cause, and they are going in well-prepared. The veterans will don old military uniforms and be equipped with body armor, ear plugs and gas masks.

“Vets Standing For Standing Rock was announced via an official sounding letter formatted like a five-paragraph military operation order, breaking down the “opposing forces” — “Morton County Sheriff’s office combined with multiple state police agencies and private security contractors” — “Mission,” “Execution” and “Logistics,” among other things. A packing list virtually mirrors the ones issued to soldiers preparing to deploy to the field (minus the weapons). But there are also parts of the document that read like a revolutionary manifesto. Under the section titled “Friendly Forces,” for example, the op order states, “we are there to put our bodies on the line, no matter the physical cost, in complete nonviolence to provide a clear representation to all Americans of where evil resides.”

Clark and Wood have an “operations order” in place to so they can organize “like a military unit” to carry out their goals. With a group of possibly 500 veterans and other brave souls, they will lock arms and cross the Missouri River to non-violently confront militarized police armed with rifles, mace, batons and dogs. Traditional Sioux war songs will be played as they attempt to peacefully surround the drill pad from which the pipeline will be bored under the river.

It’s simple and we have clearly defined goals, so people don’t get caught up in the confusion,” said Wood. “One of the issues the police are going to face is that our level of planning and coordination is vastly superior to theirs, so they may end up with a problem when it comes to that.

Even if the veterans are unsuccessful in stopping DAPL, the confrontation is sure to draw national attention — even from a mainstream media that have virtually ignored the corporate and government abuse being carried out on Native Americans in the interest of big oil.

It’s been 1 yr since I finally quit my previous job and I never felt so good in my life… I started doing work online, for a company I discovered online, few hrs a day, and I make much more than i did on my old work… Pay-check i got for last month was for Nine thousand bucks… Great thing about it is that now i have more free time for my kids… http://chilp.it/8d93f4b

    • tommyknows

      You’re shit Parsons-yvonne.

  • Difster

Odd, since they specifically rejected an offer of help from Oath Keepers.

    • Kevin House

That disappoints me. I thought the Oath Keepers were defenders of the Constitution… Not liberal protester goon squads.

      • Jason Burge

Well, the US government never kept an oath to them, so I’d say it’s well in their purview, genius.

      • Giordan

freedom of speech isn’t a part of the Constitution?

      • RonToahaniJackson1

Liberal protester goon squads? They are brave spiritual traditional men, women and elders Indigenous to this land that you currently illegally occupy and conscientious supporters. They have a RIGHT to decide to protest if they do or don’t want something potentially damaging to environment and drinking water on lands guaranteed by Treaties with the USA. If something does happen are you going to be there to help clean up the oil in the rivers? There are people of all political parties there as well. The only GOON Squads are the assholes with the guns who hide behind their body armor and masks because they don’t to face unarmed people eye to eye because that they took an oath to defend.these people Instead they are defending corporate interests, If you are so proud of the constitution why don’t you defend it and fellow American people who it is supposed to protect instead of the corporate thieves that have hijacked it and the country you are so proud of which by the way does not follow the Law of the Land. Happy Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month.

      • TecumsehUnfaced

What are the police goons protesting? They seem mostly to enjoy being Sturmabteilungen.

      • IMO60

Why should corporations line their pockets at the expense of the environment and citizens?

    • Phil Freeman

I’d like to see your source citation for that claim. I’m friends with Elias Alias the editor of oath Keepers site and I’ve not been so advised.

  • Brandon John Engelskirchen

Tulsi Gabbard is not a Native American…

    • karester

Right. She is American Samoan and Hindu

      • Phil Freeman

        Hindu is a religion..

        • TheDudeofDudes

It is also a culture smart guy.

          • Phil Freeman

            As you wish.

    • Even if she was Native American, she would still be far from the first that was also a veteran that was also elected to Congress. Native Americans have been getting elected into Congress since the 19th century.

    • Grumpus

The call is for all veterans that support the water protectors.

    • tap

Irrelevant to this article. She’s a veteran.

    • Mike Maus

      She is Samoan.

  • Cat Fish

as a vet i will stand when we get off our knees, traitors should be dealt with harshly , not from a begging position .

    • YesYou!

What the hell are you talking about?

  • IDLIKESOMEPOUNDCAKE

Can we just call them what they are?

    Terrorists

    • YesYou!

      Who?

      • Kevin House

The tresspassing protesters I’d assume. It’s hilarious that people are up in arms over the “rights violation” of these protesters as those protesters are shitting all over the property rights of the land owner.

Keep your “Ft. Laramie treaty of 1851” nonsense to yourself. It’s irrelevant. The natives had more than ample time and opportunity to fight this in court over a dozen times. It clearly wasn’t important because they never showed up…

        • Jason Burge

So our country fails to convict armed seditionists like the Bundy’s, for taking over land they never owned, but blow off an unarmed woman’s arm and shoot people with a water cannon on a bridge They own, on land that they were bilked and removed from at gunpoint, and you think This is shameful? Sure thing, dude. You are one great American.

        • canucanoe2

Wow! You are the most worthless piece of racist shit I’ve ever had the displeasure to encounter.Have a nice day!.

        • Phil Freeman

You are a bald faced liar.

        • RonToahaniJackson1

I guess you don’t care that your government and its claim that it is a nation of laws, and doesn’t honor its word because TREATIES are the SUPREME LAW of the LAND as defined by your own Supreme Court! If it was so “irrelevant” why is it still in effect and the money offered to the Sioux for the USA stealing it sitting in a bank account/ YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A RACIST HYPOCRITE.

        • sundancer

Research. this was land granted to them, signed over to them and used as a sacred burial ground. Lets say that under the cemetery where your loved ones are buried they find oil. Would you not protest them digging to get it!!!!!?????

    • Jason Burge

Or, people who were bilked out of their lands and removed at gunpoint. But hey, why look at this in the context of history. Meanwhile, how’d that armed sedition end up in Oregon? You are calling these folks terrorists? Great thinking, champ.

      • canucanoe2

Poundcake might be talking about the cops.

      • IDLIKESOMEPOUNDCAKE

        • TecumsehUnfaced

It would be interesting to see how many protestors would be there if it were not for oil (or refined into gasoline for cars and pickup trucks).

    • James

Concerned Americans are tired of this defense if oil companies and the BS of corporate “rights”. Oil & oil companies are destroying the environment. There would’ve no protestors there if it weren’t an issue of standing up to corporate interests and greed. These corporations have forced dependency on oil & gas as well as prevent alternative forms of energy from being pursued.

“alternative forms of energy” like wind and solar? Which also use petroleum products to make wind generators and solar panels — those alternative forms of energy? And while you can pat yourself on the back for using alternative forms of energy, remember we still need back-up generation when the sun goes down and the wind stops.

And you still didn’t provide an answer to how how those folks get to Cannonball, ND if not for gas-guzzling cars and trucks. I don’t think there are any electrical car plug-ins there either…

Of course there is a electrical transmission line also crossing there, along w/ a natural gas pipeline (prior utility easement), so anything is possible.

        • TecumsehUnfaced

So you are arguing that the oilers and the frackers should be able to poison everybody’s water, land, and home?

        • BKFILMS

wow your defense is weak or your ignorant. This is not about banning all gas cars and oil use, its about protecting our water source from these dirty energy sources. It’s about the rights of the American Indians lands. And this crude oil is not intended for us anyhow, yet traveled thru environmentally sensitive and sacred land. I have read some of your other comments here, you seem misinformed.

        • billdeserthills

Nobody in America needs this pipeline in order to get gas or oil. This pipeline is simply Big Oil’s answer to paying for transport of their oil by train. Don’t try to make it sound like the protesters driving need this oil line, because it is only going in to make Big Oil’s profits even larger–It will not save the US consumer one penny on the costs of gas or oil.

    • RonToahaniJackson1

Perhaps if the same oil industry building the pipeline had not killed the electric car or Tesla’s free energy they would be arriving in something more ecologically friendly.

    • Kaisa Chi

certainly none of them would be there without water to drink.
the oil, meanwhile, is being piped out for sale abroad.

      • TecumsehUnfaced

Good observation! it not about oil for us, but about maximizing profits for Kelcy Warren and his gang of vampires.

    • bsroon

It would be interesting to see how many oil pipelines go this route if their boardrooms and office buildings were attacked and burned for their injustices. If the shareholders, boardmembers and mgmt felt directly threatened – would they so willingly destroy everyone else’s lives knowing there could be consequences?

Just sayin – psychopaths DO NOT CHANGE BEHAVIOR unless they are forced to out of fear, or because it becomes too high of a price.

  • mikrat

“…and we are calling for our fellow veterans to assemble as a
peaceful, unarmed militia at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation on Dec
4-7 and defend the water protectors from assault and intimidation at
the hands of the militarized police force and DAPL security.””

LMFAO! – What are they going to do? Yell STOP! or We’ll Yell STOP Again!

For crap sake – an UnArmed Militia is nothing but a bunch of peasant slaves lining up for the slaughter.

You can’t go up against an ARMED Adversary and expect them to give a shit about your demands – I don’t care if you are ex-Mil or the pope.

The Militarized Police will kill you – They have proven time and again that the y don’t care about your rights or this country – Its all about ego, a pay check and that THEY go home at night – Your life and outcome be damned.

Being Peaceful and Polite to these treasonous pricks is what has gotten this country to the place it is today.

STOP BEING NICE! Arm up and get ready to fight.

    • TecumsehUnfaced

Then they will cry, “Insurrection!”, and send in the regular troops like they did at Blair Mountain. It will be a slaughter.

      • mikrat

We the People are already labeled as the Enemy and have been for Decades. Sitting around singing kumbaya and hoping that being nice to your enemy will get you the results you want against a armed treasonous force is ludicrous. If that was going to work, They would have left already.

Without equal force they will run over you and cheer about it over their drinks afterwards.

        Good Luck.

        • TecumsehUnfaced

What do you think would have happened to Gandhi, if he had organized an armed insurrection against the British Raj?

          • mikrat

Well… Your NOT in India and your NOT fighting the Brits. So it doesn’t matter what he did. He didn’t – So what, So you have no Idea what “Might” have happened if he did.

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda. Just armchair quarterbacking.

          • TecumsehUnfaced

Just extrapolating from what the British did do.

          • bsroon

Gandhi knew that if the Brits harmed him, there would have been zero surviving British in all of India. This would have been a bit of a caution to them. There is nobody in the world today engendering such support and therefore capable of leading such a movement.
Not even MLK could come close.

          • TecumsehUnfaced

You are claiming that the Indian peasants weren’t sick and tired of that bossy aristocrat, who treated them with even less respect than the British?

          • bsroon

i’m sure some liked him and some loathed him. He did have people join him at his ashram sort of set up, he had thousands spin and weave, had huge crowds march for salt – so obviously not all hated him – and the Brits were so rightfully despised that many might have used an incident involving Gandhi as an excuse to “off” the Raj.

          • TecumsehUnfaced

For a while he was new and exciting. Then they got bored with him. Long before 1947 the Quit India Movement had practically died out.

          • tamajam10

While I believe no ONE person comes close to Ghandi, I believe a MOVEMENT may. ‘The Water Protectors’ at the DAPL site come as close as we may ever see again in this still ‘peaceful ‘ country. Every able-bodied person within traveling distance should be there – others should support them as, say, the Oregon Community donating tiny homes and solar energy.

I believe that Freedom comes in little jumps by a collective force that encourages greater numbers of ‘the masses’ to lend their support in whatever means possible to take bigger jumps. If this were not so, Trump would not be our President-elect. Whether he lives up to his promise (unlike every president before him since Reagan) remains to be seen, but The People have spoken. Whether it is too late to avoid WWIII….in this country….remains to be seen; Obama is still in office, and the no-fly zone over Syria seems to still be ‘on the table’.

All that said, I think if any further offensive actions were taken against the Water Protectors – especially in light of the woman losing her arm to government-sponsored and corporate-funded police brutality, the seams of apathy may become ripped apart. MSM is obviously not reporting on the Truth; but, there are enough of Truth Sayers out there that are, and We The People are paying attention. I believe that there will be hundreds if not thousands of people and groups going to there to support the Natives. I believe there will be more honorable members of the paid ‘Police State’ that will refuse to participate in what is intended to be designated slaughter (another Ruby Ridge, if you will). I believe, more of us know what we know and need to be comfortable with that.

I also believe most of the liberal protesters after Trump’s win were simply misguided and reacted to the standard propaganda. However, if you take away their day-to-day conveniences that they don’t have to pay for, I’m pretty sure, they’ll be singing (and burning, and destroying, and rioting) a different tune.

Let’s just hope it’s not too late. Only God knows.

          • bsroon

Liked your post. The ACE closing the area to prevent violence would be unnecessary if the cops were removed, but THAT would defeat the purpose.

It seems obvious to thinkers that the cops and pipeline are totally in the wrong, so we thinkers KNOW that THE LAW IS TOTALLY UNIMPORTANT in reality. What matters is whether the rich people get richer by breaking it or by using it to repress we the people. In my book, another argument for tribal anarchic “govt”.

Some of these cops are going to go home and wonder why they are seen with distrust and disgust – when they earned their lack of respect as “officers of the law” and as defective human beings.

One reason to close the area is to keep the veteran support out of the news – can’t have people knowing that we who volunteered the risk of death for the freedom of people support this freedom against the fake authorities. i left the army infantry as a conscientious objector, but i would love to have the opportunity to go to Dallas and put a rubber bullet into that rich white guy running all over everyone’s freedoms and the environment. Lob a stun grenade outside his office window and see how he likes a little of payback. The opening would be a great place to shoot in a tear gas grenade, lol.

If they didn’t have any prisoners in there – the Morton County Sheriffs psychopath dept would be a good place for a flash-bang and teargas, lol.

The Nuremberg trial concluded that just following orders does not absolve the individual soldier (or officer of the law) from refreaining from crimes against humanity. Such immorality is NOT dependent upon death. Shooting people with rubber bullets, tazering them, shooting them with water cannons and more -are all signs of ethical retardation. All these officers can individually be sued for PERSONAL tort lawsuits to recover monetary damages through a jury trial. Most of these have resulted in monetary fines.

Imagine those smug cops faces if they realized they might have to pay one of their victims $200,000 – although that is a little larger than the largest similar settlements to date regarding police abuses…

Gandhi drove the British out of India using peaceful disobedience. Maybe violence is your way, but the way the water protectors are handling this is excellent. This gives the police no legitimate justification for using violence. Remember that the world is watching.

      • Jeremy Lawrence

Actually he did not, his movement was actually in it’s waning period when

Subhas Chandra Bose began militant action against the British army. Without hisefforts the English would still be in control of India

        • TecumsehUnfaced

Thanks for offering this! Very interesting article and comments!

        • Grumpus

hat is very interesting, however, the Japanese with whom he was working with to drive the British out of India thought that he was “militarily unskilled and his military effort short lived. In late 1944 and early 1945 the British Indian Army first halted and then devastatingly reversed the Japanese attack on India…Almost half the Japanese forces and fully half the participating INA contingent were killed.” Bose went to Manchuria where he died on August 18, 1945. Note the date that British rule ended in India which in in 1947. Gandhi said it well and it was adopted by the Indians; “The power of the rulers is derived from the obedience of its subjects.”

Further, Bertrand Russel chronicles the feeling of the average Britisher here: http://www.mkgandhi.org/articles/russel.htm when Gandhi did the raid on the salt-pans at Dharasana. The response to the actions on the peaceful protesters brought on great shame to the British public. This kind of shame also occurred with the US in the Vietnam War that finally drove the public against the government.

          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subhas_Chandra_Bose

      • billdeserthills

That’s so great, but why are the police using violent tactics, You said they would have no justification to do so??

        • Grumpus

They know of no other way to deal with peaceful protesters. For that fact, the world is watching and the police are looking pretty bad. The police are even trying to make the water protectors look violent which would give them justification to be violent. The problem the police are having is that there are so many cameras and live streams they are having problems trying to control the truth getting out. “Truth never damages a cause that is just.” — Mohandas Gandhi

      • mikrat

        Really?
I never said to use violence – but to be armed and ready if and WHEN the Police do. If you have a somewhat equal ability to fight them (and they know it), they may smarten up a bit as think twice about being stupid and attacking.

And as for their Justification – They don’t need any, its Policy – They will attack just to intimidate, They will Kill just to prove a point (they are the MAN), look at What happened to an UN ARMED Lavoy Finicum.

        • Grumpus

Unarmed is the best way. Any show of aggression such as being armed gives justification for an armed assault. If you think a few armed protesters taking on the National Guard then you have no concept of how to peacefully protest. Civil disobedience is not about armed conflict. Why give any reason whatsoever for armed conflict. All it would take would be one shot fired and any peaceful protest comes to an end.

Maybe you weren’t around for Kent State, but the National Guard killing four unarmed people at Kent State was another reason to help end the Vietnam War.

Maybe you have a problem understanding “peaceful” protest?

          • Arthur Dent

You neglect to make mention of the millions of unarmed people who were murdered by Hitler, Stalin and Mao. An armed population is a secure and peaceful population. An armed population does not go willingly into cattle cars.

          • mikrat

“Peaceful” does not mean cannon fodder for the corrupt. Just because you carry a weapon does not mean you are violent. When I carry I am peaceful to all – unless they are UN-peaceful to me or someone around me.

“…Maybe you weren’t around for Kent State, but the National Guard killing
four unarmed people at Kent State was another reason to help end the
            Vietnam War….”

So you think that when the PoPo kill 4 of the UN Armed protesters up there it will cause the pipeline to come to an end?

So your saying YOU are willing to let 4 UN ARMED Protesters to be Killed because YOU don’t think anyone should be able to defend themselves?

      • mikrat
        • TecumsehUnfaced

That got him jail for a large portion of his life. Note how he thought things over.

        • Grumpus

Why don’t you state what happened during the rule of the apartheid state of South Africa? The tens of thousands of non-whites that were massacred just from 1960 until the fall off the apartheid government? With the revolution that throughout out the white government I’m surprised that white were allowed to live with the way they oppressed the indigenous people. That revolution on the most part was non-violent in comparison to the one in the US that failed. You know that one. It is called the Civil War. How many died for that conflict?

      • Phil Freeman

        Ghanhdi was shot and killed.

        • Grumpus

Everybody is going to die. It is how we live that really matters.

          • Phil Freeman

I do my living defending the defenseless, on my feet, honourably. With the courage of my conviction, but not alone.

            Aut pax aut bellum

          • Grumpus

Could to know that you serve the public, that you stand against oppression with integrity, honesty. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao used various governmental police and military forces to suppress/oppress others that they were lead to believe to be publics undesirables.

          • Phil Freeman

They did indeed, and as an indigenous member, vet, and former deputy sheriff, I can say that the police are in error and grave danger.

        • Telast

Gandhi was killed by a nut. Not by cops.

          • Phil Freeman

I’m sure he’d argue that with you, but, he’s dead from a gsw.

          • Phil Freeman

            synonymous terms nut/cop . What’s your point?

          • Telast

Ridiculous claim. What’s YOUR point? Cops are nuts? What else is new?

    • IMO60

Mikrat sounds bored. I bet as a kid he was the one yelling “fight fight, fight” in the schoolyard instead of wading in to breakup a fight.

      • mikrat

Sorry Simpleton – Just a realist who has learned much in my life about the reality of the world and the reality of the Police State/Governments.

Some fights need to be fought.

        Keep handing out those daisy’s.

        • Grumpus

I’ve been around a few blocks myself. As soon as any of the water protectors become violent then the police, in the publics eye, have justification to turn violent.

What you suggest would do harm to the cause, not help it. The ones that have the real courage are the water protectors, not the wimps that are fully armed and with riot gear ready for a war facing unarmed water protectors. I have far more respect for them than the wimpy police officers.

          • mikrat

You don’t seem to get it – I never said to Get Violent. I said to Arm yourselves so that you are on a Even Footing with the Police/Feds – And when you are on that equal footing they will not be the ass holes they are because you are armed.

And when they attack you then have a way of defending yourselves – Get It?

          • Grumpus

You don’t seem to get it. The elders have made it quite clear that no form of violence will occur from the water protectors. Nobody is allowed to be armed and if somebody starts to get aggressive they are immediately removed.

If a shot is fired, a fire fight may occur because no side will know who fired the shot. This is not the movies. People don’t run around in white hats saying they are the good guys making the bad guys wear black hats. It would seem those water protectors going into the situation unarmed have far more courage than those that want to be armed.

    • Viki

Why can’t the veterans provide the protesters with the same protection?

      • mikrat

You must have missed the part about them being UN-Armed. The Vets will be no more Protective by being UN-Armed than a stick.

“…and we are calling for our fellow veterans to assemble as a
peaceful, unarmed militia at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation …”

If you are going to be a Protective “force” then you best go in on equal terms as the aggressor.

        • bsroon

i couldn’t do the peaceful thing. A cop tried to arrest me he’d likely get a broken knee at the least, fingers, elbows, whatever is closest.

    • 101010010110101010101

I guess we need a lot more people at the protest site. The cops are really being pricks now.

    • Downriver

      idiot looking for a massacre

  • Len

Obviously Obama has wiped his hands off this, it`s time to bring in our new leader the man for the people President Trump

  • Caroline Bertinetti

This whole situation is just awful, but also perplexing. WHY so much violence against peaceful protesters? What is being left untold? Is this really about cheap oil? Infuriating.

    • mikrat

Its about the profits from the oil being sold to overseas clients, and the “elite” not letting us peasants tell them No. Notice how the Cops always follow the “Elites” orders – That shows you who they really work for and protect/serve.

  • Claudia Dehio

I wish we could send over a bagpiper to assist with the war songs, – but enough now to say how most of us in Scotland stand with you all who are fighting this current regime of corporate greed. All Waterprotectors and their helpers are an example to us all and showing the way with integrity, thank you and you are in our thoughts always.

    • Robert Westie

Great idea to show that Scotland stands on the side of freedom. I would love to see a piper in the mix.

    • Flying Gabriel

Clarke Jnr said in an earlier post that the pipes will indeed be playing at Standing Rock.

    • Nicholas Carter

Well that’s a bunch of nonsense… I’ve spoken to 4 people who live in Scotland about this issue, and none of them were on the side of the protesters… Speak for yourself, Claudia. Not everyone in Scotland supports this group of violent whiners.

      • Phil Freeman

You’re no Scotsman! Just a wee spineless jellyfish.

        • Nicholas Carter

I’ll invite you to come say that in my presence… You’d shrink back into your little hole if this 300lbs Scotsman was staring you in the eyes. I’ve had lots of native Americans here in New Mexico try to act tough until I stood up… Not a single one of them were anything more than cowards! ;o)

          • Phil Freeman

I’m 19 Stone myself, Clan Gunn, I’d set upon your flabby jammy dodger eating arse and you’d shite yourself chunky buns. You have no idea what you’re on about.

          • Nicholas Carter

Clan Gunn, huh? It’d be a pleasure to beat down a descendant of such a traitorish bunch of losers! Such a weak pathetic clan that the best part of you is spawned from… Bring it on, mud-blood!

          • Phil Freeman

You couldn’t beat your own meat without getting a black eye, don’t raise yourself you mutt.

          • Nicholas Carter

Keep crying, little girl… It just makes watching these losers get beat again even sweeter! I’ll be thinking of you while I enjoy the video of these morons getting sprayed with mace, and cold water in the middle of winter! ;o)

          • Phil Freeman

Let’s meet I’ll bring the bandages for you.

          • Nicholas Carter

Gladly! Where do you live, princess? :o)

            Navarre Beach Florida USA

          • Nicholas Carter

You want me to travel to the armpit of America to slap you around? Hahaha! I tell you what, cupcake… why don’t you head up to New Mexico to take your beating? I’ll be holding my breath waiting for an old, retired, liberal to show up… That pipeline will be finished, and if we’re lucky, there will be video of the pathetic, defeated protesters tucking their tails between their legs and crying all the way home! ;o) I truely hope you come back and read this after the DAPL is finished, just so you can see how much of a difference all of you sensitive hippies made… Hahaha!

          • Phil Freeman

Just as I thought, too lazy and fat to pour your arse into the car seat and face a real man. Brilliant. I’m sure mom’s proud. 300 lbs of stupid.

          • Nicholas Carter

I’m right here waiting for you, mud-blood… Areyou too stupid to realize that you’re not worth the 2000 mile drive? Why don’t you spend the money and time to come visit a real Scotsman? Yeah, I figured you would just run your mouth like the pathetic gunn you claim to be… Your ancestors were losers then, and you’re a loser now… The Clan Keith would be glad to see what’s become of your weak bloodline! Hahaha! ;o)

          • Phil Freeman

You’d just take a beating fatty. I live in an island in Florida you turd. Surrounded by emerald water and white sand beaches. Yeah I have it bad. You can have your sheep herding in new Mexico. Enjoy the bleating. English mutt.

          • Nicholas Carter

Enjoy the new pipeline, little girl! I’ll be sure to send my condolences upon completion of the DAPL, and the crushing of your pathetic little cause… Hahaha!!!

          • Phil Freeman

No oil will ever flow in that pipe. Promise. You’re no Scotsman. Just a wee turd in the punch bowl.

          • Nicholas Carter

Looks like your little promise is meaningless now, huh? Hahahaha! Can’t wait for that oil to start flowing!

          • Phil Freeman

Well guess what smarty, the army Corp halted the construction of the pipeline under the lake. How’s the crow?

          • Nicholas Carter

Hahaha!!! You believe this little ruse? This is just to get those hippies back into their huts, and then when Trump takes office, guess who’s getting a new pipeline… Man, you people are stupid… No wonder you lost the election… not to mention all your ancestor’s land. Hahaha!

          • Phil Freeman

Did you pluck the crow, or just eat it whole? Dirty English..ghet

          • Nicholas Carter

That’s cute… the mud-blood thinks his dirty little army has won… Hahaha! You should lay off the fire-water. LOL I’ll be laughing when they finish the pipeline, chief… ;o)

          • Nicholas Carter

Oh Phil, did you see that the pipeline was just put back into motion by Trump? Bwahahaha! What did I tell you would happen? Enjoy the new pipeline, mudblood! ;o)

          • Phil Freeman

Grab a sporran full if jelly donuts and drive I-10 East chubby. Let me know when you get to Pensacola FL. I’ll guide you to throttling about the head and shoulders.

  • Ed Crites

If I may, I would suggest the military veterans peacefully protest as the first and front line of defense in full service dress along with our Native American brothers and sisters.

    • Telast

That’s the imagery that will get the attention this deserves.

  • James Bacon

Why is Obama not speaking out about this pipeline like he did Keystone XL?
    1. END of his presidency. He never really gave a flying £u€k about the environment or people.
    2. I’m betting Democrat donors are vested in this pipeline but weren’t in Keystone.
    3. Press don’t give a $#¡t because it doesn’t make republicans look bad.
    4. What’s screwing the native American over again like?

  • JW Mack

Unarmed? Um, nope, I wouldn’t go unless I had a standard battle load, you know, like all the cops have.

  • saramamabear

A military presence, even predicated as nonviolent, will inspire more violence in an already violent situation. Please just go as people supporting the cause.

  • Good. We need unity and everyone standing.

But what the heck is with the porn smut themed ads on your site now? Is this the level of desperation our movement must stoop to. Makes us look bad.

  • Spelunker4Plato
  • sundancer

Even the UN has said the inhumane treatment of the Indians must stop! That should tell the rest of us something. That Obama’s plans for the pipeline and subsequent use of police force is uncalled for.

  • NormanWells

    What a bunch of losers.

  • Jack Alexander

Related to East Coast Tribes: Happy Thanksgiving undocumented Europeans!

  • John Cokos

As a Viet Nam era vet, I am in complete support of this effort. It has “legs” and will ring true with vets that in all areas where they are involved.

    • Phil Freeman

So long as we don’t have agents provocateur infiltration, no violence!

      • John Cokos

Well, that certainly is a possibility. My approach would be to compartmentalize the effort and have all relevant intel on a NEED TO KNOW basis.
De-centralize and vet anyone with any decision making to very close scrutiny, Keep the other side in the dark, and EVERYONE read the Art of War by Sun Zhu . This is warfare on a new scale of logistics and PR….

        • Phil Freeman

          Beware the grey man.

          • John Cokos

I’m familiar with the grey man concept. Used by the intelligence operatives and others to obscure their actions and identity. Be not a Grey Man, its a nasty washed out color with no soul.
Grey Man already visited the area with his “assault weapon” (not technically correct). That little incident only pints out the need for perimeter security: need a “fire watch” team to head that off.

          • Phil Freeman

Yes. Multiple layers of perimeter security. A serious endeavor to vet those allowed in decision making.
I thought assault was a verb?
            Lol.

          • Phil Freeman

It is impossible to defend the castle from the mailbox.

  • Kendall Sorensen

I know I will end up getting a negative on this but who here has read the environmental impact servery for the DAPL? The proposed route never touches the reservation all the water crossings take place 150 feet UNDER the water bed to avoid contamination. It even includes the Army Corps of Engineers report. It was used to dismiss a lawsuit from the tribe on the Army Corps of Engineers.

  • 101010010110101010101

Right on Veterans. Please make a difference.

People will die on both sides of the water..
I am in southern colorado.. I will be going and I have room for 3 riders.. let me know if ya wanna go.

  • fbcx

I suppose these veterans would honor orders from their chain of command and the Commander in Chief, or will they dishonor the uniform and flag they have pledged to support? Just wondering if they remember the oath they took.

  • J Russell

Absolutely retarded. Vets going to protect George Soros’ protest action. A protest about nothing, as the pipeline doesn’t even cross Sioux land, and the water inlet it is near has been set to be retired for years, and will be replaced in the coming months.
Oh, and the dumb wench blew herself up while trying to make an IED from a propane canister lol. No concussion grenades.

  • I admire you guys for going to Standing Rock. I feel touched by what you are doing. I respect you for it. Much of the US government has lost my respect. So it is encouraging to see that some people still have a heart and soul and don’t think only about money and power.
