When Kevin Mclaughlin went inside a Dollar General in Orrville, Alabama is was surely not for a new pair of sunglasses. Upon entering the store Mclaughlin brandished a pistol and began demanding everyone move to the employee break room.

What would have happened next if Marlo Ellis would not have been there is unknown. However, having a bunch of unarmed people in a room with one crazy armed person tends to turn out poorly for the unarmed, most of the time.

Someone may have dialed 9-1-1 and the folks inside may or may not have been killed by Mclaughlin or the cops.

It’s a good thing for all those involved, except for the gun wielding crazy man, that Mr. Ellis was packing heat. When the opportunity presented itself, Ellis took out the would-be murderer and everyone was saved.

Self-defense for the win!
