VIDEO: While Officer Says Running Red Lights is Illegal, Behind Him, a Cop Runs a Red Light

Aurora, Co — As cities across the country are removing their red light cameras because of the corruption involved and the unconstitutional nature of them, Aurora, Colorado is going in the opposite direction. Not only did they vote to keep them, but police and city council members, who bask in the extortion fees, want to add more.

This week, the city council voted unanimously to extend their contract with Xerox and continue the red light camera extortion through next year.

According to ABC 7 Denver, they also approved to use some of the funds from the camera enforcement for Aurora police to conduct a study on what they consider to be the six most dangerous intersections in the city.

“None of them were our photo radar intersections,” said Lt. Michael McClelland, who spoke before city council members at the meeting on Monday night.

In one of the greatest ironic cop moments ever captured on video, while ABC 7 news was interviewing McClelland talking about how citizens are running red lights — an Aurora cop was captured on the news camera — running the red light.

“Running a red light is against the law,” asserts McClelland.

“Turning right on red without coming to a full and complete stop, is against the law,” McClelland says as his fellow cop turns left on red dangerously blocking both lanes of oncoming traffic.

While this video is certainly hilarious, it is a kick in the head for anyone who’s ever gotten a ticket. In police state USA the common man is held to the fire and used a revenue generating farm, while those who collect the revenue rub it in our faces.

Normally I wouldn’t comment, and I generally support these kinds of articles, but one viewing of that video calls this entire article bullshit. CHECK YOUR FACTS before you report on them!!!! Did you watch the video closely enough??, my god. The cop is turning and FOLLOWING multiple cars that ALREADY were turning left. They all had a green light to turn left at that intersection.

    • Stuart Blankenship

Well he turned on a yellow at best which means the cops had more than plenty of time to have notice the changing light but chose to go through knowing it would turn before he (?) made it through.

not only that but what if he was following the construction vehicle?

Everyone has ran a yellow light that has been in the middle of turning red.

what a stupid article. didn’t the guy writing it even watch the video. good spot adsfasdf

Police power long with a shiny badge, a big gun and a loud siren, bright flashing red and blue lights along wiith have those exerillating high speed chases are the icing on the cake for thise now adult school yard bullies who are drawn to being a “po lice man’ just like flies to a bresh barnyard cow ‘pattie’.

  • Prophet

What a stretch. Cop was already going as light turned yellow and then red. Police corruption is real, so there’s no need for articles like this to try and find some where there isn’t any.

red light camera’s are just a scam to generate revenue the lazy way for cops…

  • Michael V. Pelletier

Designers of camera intersections have been known cut the yellow interval to absolute minimums in spite of good traffic engineering practices in order to increase revenue. There’s about six seconds from the time he enters the intersection to the green through light, and if this intersection is typical of the criminal rip-offs that camera companies perpetrate on the driving public, he still had about two seconds of green left when he entered the intersection.

he did not run a red light. one he was already past halfway of the
intersection when the light turned red. that’s still a legal left turn.
two there is nothing to prove the light for his lane was red. the car
behind the cop did stop. but that could possibly been because once the
one light turned green he lost his right of way and had to yield to the
traffic in the other lanes. once that cleared he could still go if his
light was not in fact red. and three… you have a city construction
    truck, a
backhoe, then a cop. personally i believe, what is going on is because
of the high traffic area and the speed difference of vehicles compared
to construction utilities; The foreman or job site supervisor or company
escort driver was escorting the backhoe, and the cop was also
escorting, if not escorting, possibly following cause his services were
required at the job site they going to as a traffic control flag man. so
what i see is evidence of the city was doing some repairs that needed
to be done and a cop was apart of that repair as traffic control. the
convoy was well past the intersection as well as the cop before the
light turned red, which still makes his left turn legal, and the is no
evidence that the green light he turned left on had turned red. so
bullshit nice spin on dumb shit to try and prove something happened that
the odds are better in the favor that it actually didn’t. and
conspiracy theorist wonder why they are not taken seriously even when
    they should be.

    • Nonsense. The light turns yellow 4 or 5 car lengths before the intersection. No way was he already beginning the turn when the light turned red.
