Austin, TX – A video showing a group of masked police officers leading a handcuffed man to the side of a building where they proceed to attack him is going viral on Facebook.

The video was posted by Facebook user Mo Anderson. It appears to have taken place at the Signature Austin Convenience store on 900 East Avenue in Austin. The officers are dressed in all black, with the word “POLICE” featured on both front and back.

The man, who is African American, is also wearing all black, and carrying a backpack. His hands appear to be handcuffed behind his back as three officers lead him out of what looks to be a convenience store.

Given the timing of the video, it is not clear why the man was arrested, or how the incident began, but one thing is clear—the man is not resisting arrest. He is not attempting to get away from the officers, and he appears to be complying with their orders.

However, in addition to the woman recording the scene from the front seat of her car, there also appear to be a few other bystanders, reminding the officers that there are multiple witnesses.

The officers then lead the man to the side of the building. The woman who is recording the scene turns the camera away for a matter of seconds and then exits her car when she sees that another man has followed the officers to the side of the building.

The man in handcuffs can be heard crying out in pain on the video before Anderson reaches the side of the building. When he appears on camera again, he is on the ground, with two officers holding him in place while the third officer fires a Taser at him.

After the man is shocked with a taser, one of the officers then begins striking him in the head and pushing his head into the concrete sidewalk. The officer stops hitting the man long enough for the first officer to shock him with a taser once again.

As the officers are assaulting the man, the one holding the taser is also seen looking around, assessing the surroundings, and the witnesses who are watching and hearing the man’s exclamatory cries of “No,” “Ow,” and “Help me!”

“Put your hands behind your back!” One officer yells, almost seeming to attempt to counter the man’s cries. However, as any witnesses to the scene can see, there are two officers on top of the man, and a third kneeling over him with a Taser. If the assault had caused the man’s hands to slip from behind his back, it is clear that he would not have been able to secure them again, in the physical position he was put in.

The video of the assault was published on Facebook, and it has nearly 12,000 shares and over 2,000 comments. Both the man and the officers who physically abused him have not been identified, and there does not appear to be much public information on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
