As Facebook Censorship Peaks—A Better Alternative Treats You as a Customer, Not the Product

It is no secret that Facebook is a leviathan of corruption, censorship, spying, and an outright divide-stoking platform that has been a part of facilitating a massively bicameral society that is ripping apart. Thanks to its algorithms that keep users in their own partisan bubbles, billions of people across the planet who get most of their information from Facebook, have fallen into a bias-confirming slumber and react with anger, and sometimes violence, when presented with factual information that challenges their Facebook-constructed world view.

It is leading to mass ignorance, the shouting down of peaceful ideas, and hatred for our fellow man.

Even former high-level executives inside Facebook have come forward to attempt to alert the world to technocratic dystopia this social media platform is creating. For years, the Free Thought Project has been screaming this information from the rooftops. We even held a summit in Houston last year with heads of media companies from all over the world to discuss how to successfully combat the forthcoming big tech dictatorship.

But we were lacking one thing — an awakening to the censorship large enough to help create a massive migration to something better.

While heads of state across the world set out to make Facebook change to their will, or regulate them into submission — which cannot and will not ever happen or lead to any positive change — the Free Thought Project and others have been promoting and building alternative platforms. On these other platforms, unlike Facebook, the user is actually the customer, not the product. And, the term “censorship” is only used to describe these dinosaur social media companies who are finally being exposed.

Since the great alternative media purge in 2018, the Free Thought Project has kept our presence on Facebook — despite them repeatedly banning our pages, wiping away years of work and millions of followers in the process — in an effort to help guide people to a better way. Finally, after having their private information bought and sold by the highest bidder, repeated spying, and and constant censorship of peaceful views, this complacency is waning and people are now looking for a that better way.

Luckily, it is here.

Millions of people have started shutting down their Facebook accounts and moving to MeWe.com. MeWe is an ad-free, censorship free, user friendly social media network that makes no money from selling your data, advertising to you, or violating your privacy.

MeWe CEO Mark Weinstein notes that they are leading the privacy revolution in social media. The social network has a Privacy Bill of Rights giving its users total control of their data and privacy.

There are no ads, no targeting, no facial recognition, no data mining, and no newsfeed manipulation.

Anyone who can navigate Facebook can navigate MeWe as its interface is very user friendly and has all the features one can imagine. But don’t take our word for it, MeWe was named a 2020 Most Innovative Social Media Company by Fast Company, a 2019 Best Entrepreneurial Company in America by Entrepreneur Magazine, and Start-Up of the Year Finalist at SXSW when it debuted in 2016.

And, this year, they have started to see record numbers of users flocking to the platform after fleeing Facebook’s nightmare. Comparably, when Facebook was in its 4th year, Zuckerberg was not seeing near the same levels of success and growth that MeWe is currently seeing.

If you are a frequent reader of TFTP, and a free thinking skeptic, you are likely asking yourself right now, “okay, so if they have no ads, no targeting, no facial recognition, no data mining, and no newsfeed manipulation, how do they make any money?”

Because they don’t treat you as the product, MeWe had to think outside of the box in an attempt to monetize, and it is brilliant. The company has a “Freemium’ revenue model that gives users the basic social media experience for free — which is already better than Facebook and has NO ADS — but offers optional enhancements they can purchase.

These enhancements include extra storage ($3.99 per month), live voice and video calling ($1.99 per month), and MeWe journals ($1.99 per month).

Unlike Mark Zuckerberg who lied, cheated, and stole his way into his Facebook empire, Weinstein founded MeWe with privacy as the infrastructure — not algorithms designed to keep you logged in so your interactions can be mined and and sold in an effort to better exploit you.

Weinstein is ranked one of the “Top 8 Minds in Online Privacy,” and was named “Privacy by Design Ambassador” by The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada.

On the contrary, instead of receiving awards for privacy, Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey are constantly called to testify before Congress for manipulating users, election interference, spying, selling your data, censorship, and lying to you.

As architect, engineer, inventor, writer, and futurist, Buckminster Fuller famously said, “You never change something by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

As the creation of MeWe illustrates, there are new models out there right now that show how obsolete Facebook and their giant platform of thought manipulation and censorship has become. It is up to us to vote with our use of social media to create real change.

Do we want to continue to allow Facebook to treat us as a product while making billions off censoring peaceful anti-establishment voices, potentially kicking off a massive civil war in the process? Or, do you want to do something as simple as using the new model, one that doesn’t steal your information and peddle it to the highest bidder?

Over the past couple of years, we have been helping to build this new model and with your help, it can replace the tyrannical old one.
