"This Bill would allow children access to marijuana!"
An overwhelming majority of the people in America want an end to the drug war and most specifically an end to the war on marijuana. Almost everyone has a friend or family member who has been victimized because of their choice to use and posses this plant, and as each day passes, more and more people are beginning to question the propaganda that the drug war is built upon.
Now that many states have legalized marijuana or created medical programs, the issue has been taken much more seriously in other parts of the country. However, local police departments and police unions are fighting back hard against legalization efforts in their areas.
In Florida, for example, a new medical marijuana bill is projected to pass by an overwhelming majority, but local police are doing everything they can to discourage voters from supporting the bill. Recently, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd appeared on FOX news to discuss the possibility of legalization in Florida, and as expected the interview was filled with lies and fallacies.
This intelligent sheriff claims that you can't get 80 percent of people to go to the bathroom together, as evidence that the overwhelming support of medical marijuana is false; because the two are obviously very closely related.

In the interview, he said that the new law would make the drug "available" to children, when in reality it would only authorize medical marijuana treatment for children with serious illnesses. He also discusses the possibility for people to be "poisoned" with marijuana, something that has never actually been documented, aside from when the government sprayed marijuana crops with paraquat in the 1980's.
In the interview, the host and the Sheriff both discuss how crime and drug use among teens has shot up in Colorado since legalization, however, according to the government's own statistics both crime and drug use among teens have decreased.
According to the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey released by the Department of Public Health and Environment, Marijuana use among teens in Colorado has declined 2% over the past two years. Additionally, as we reported earlier this year, the murder rate in Denver has been cut in half since the prohibition ended.
