New York, NY -- The diligent police accountability group, Copwatch Patrol Unit (CPU) of New York caught a disturbing act of police aggression on video this week. As a member of the group filmed an arrest, which is his first amendment right to do so, an officer with the NYPD's Anti-Crime Unit drew his pistol and aimed it at him.
The man filming had done nothing wrong and was listening to the officer's command to back up when all of the sudden the officer snaps and aims his loaded weapon at innocent bystanders.
In the video, we can see the officer applying some version of an armbar and a chokehold, and both cops have complete control of their subject. The man is not resisting in any way and all they had to do was handcuff him.
Instead of deescalating the situation, this officer escalated it and subsequently endangered the lives of multiple innocent people.
Before pulling the gun on the innocent bystanders, the man in the armbar/chokehold was pleading with the officers that he could not breathe.
As CPU said, "these kinds of police officers should not be working in any community."
Not long after this cop pulled a gun on a group of innocent civilians, he was filmed again walking up to a non-violent man and waylaying him in the face before throwing him to the ground where he's joined by fellow cops in their assault.

According to CPU, this incident took place at the Fredrick Douglas projects, building number 480 on St. Nicholas Avenue.
In the second video, the raging cop walks outside and sucker punches a man, whose only crime appeared to be filming.
When police officers act like this, the community they ostensibly 'protect' is in danger. The people filming the arrest were clearly not interfering and the mere act of being held accountable is what set this literal loose cannon off.
According to CPU, they are following up with the NYPD to get an investigation into the matter.
According to CPU, these officers were with the 32 Precinct located at 250 W 135th St, New York, NY 10030.
