Khristi Jackson was at home with her family when officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) knocked on her door, looking for a female suspect. Jackson claims that within five seconds of opening the door, the officers were inside her home, forcibly putting her in handcuffs. "They literally slung me on the ground. One police officer kneed me on my right side while I was on the ground," Jackson told News4JAX.
The video of the incident reveals the chaos and confusion that ensued as officers entered Jackson's home without a warrant. A JSO officer is heard saying, "We are trying to figure out what's going on as well," highlighting the lack of communication and planning among the officers.
Despite Jackson's insistence that she was not the suspect they were looking for, the officers took her out of her home in handcuffs and placed her in the back of a squad car for questioning. "That they stop it, that they stop brutalizing people like they are doing. Communicate with people instead of the first thing you want to do is put your hands on them and slam them on the ground," she said.
