Jacksonville, FL — In an appalling display of police incompetence and lack of accountability, a Jacksonville family was terrorized by law enforcement officers who barged into their home, assaulted a woman, and handcuffed her before realizing they had the wrong person. The incident, which unfolded in the presence of the woman's 4-year-old grandson and two daughters, was captured on video and servers as yet another reminder of the recurring problem of excessive force in America's unaccountable security force.

Khristi Jackson was at home with her family when officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) knocked on her door, looking for a female suspect. Jackson claims that within five seconds of opening the door, the officers were inside her home, forcibly putting her in handcuffs. "They literally slung me on the ground. One police officer kneed me on my right side while I was on the ground," Jackson told News4JAX.

The video of the incident reveals the chaos and confusion that ensued as officers entered Jackson's home without a warrant. A JSO officer is heard saying, "We are trying to figure out what's going on as well," highlighting the lack of communication and planning among the officers.

Despite Jackson's insistence that she was not the suspect they were looking for, the officers took her out of her home in handcuffs and placed her in the back of a squad car for questioning. In a stunning display of incompetence, they failed to read her rights or inform her why she was being detained. Jackson was later released after half an hour, with officers admitting that it was a case of mistaken identity due to her hair color.

Although one officer apologized to Jackson, the damage was done. Her family remains traumatized by the incident, and Jackson is now calling for change. "That they stop it, that they stop brutalizing people like they are doing. Communicate with people instead of the first thing you want to do is put your hands on them and slam them on the ground," she said.

News4JAX reached out to JSO with questions about the incident, including whether the officers had a warrant and the response of Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters. The department stated that the incident is under administrative review and declined to comment further.

This disturbing video of the incident, which you can view below, serves as a stark illustration of the dangers posed by America's unaccountable security force. It underscores the urgent need for a serious shift in philosophy and the immediate need for accountability, as innocent families should not have to endure such violent encounters due to law enforcement's ineptitude and excessive use of force. The footage is a stark reminder of what happens when America grants a monopoly to a corrupt group of individuals and trusts them with their "security."
