As a former Sergeant in the United State Marine Corps I am very familiar with the military indoctrination process. Each individual is broken down to a blank slate, a drone, if you will. Then they are reprogrammed with unquestioning obedience and the uncanny and disturbing ability to view their fellow man as an inhuman animal who must be eliminated at any cost, as they are, the enemy.
The psychological tactics and techniques have been refined over time in order to create the more perfect army; one that will blindly die for or kill anyone they are told.
To use these psychological and military-esque tactics to indoctrinate a domestic force whose ostensible existence is to protect and to serve, is unsettling to say the least.
We are witnessing the materialization of these tactics here at home as routine traffic stops are now turning into nightmarish scenes of sodomy and rape; and innocent people are slain at a higher rate than soldiers being killed in war, by cops, who claim the responsibility of protecting them.
The police force has lost its mission, if it ever had one, of protect and serving, and instead has become a militarized bureaucracy hell bent on “smashing heads” and self-preservation.
The militarization is no longer denied, and in fact glorified. As forces across the county receive actual military equipment from Iraq and Afghanistan, those of us that are awake to it, are watching in horror as the giant black boot grows larger and larger.
The people are the only ‘check’ left in this unbalanced state and it is up to us to stop this boot. We can accomplish this through releasing our dependency upon these violent institutions. Build neighborhood groups instead of relying on smash and grab jackboots to provide your security. And simply stop being afraid to talk about the corruption, for they may silence one of us, but they will never silence an idea whose time has come.
Below is a recruitment video that touches on some of these points of militarization. Here is the description from the video, “We are a highly progressive Police Department with 149 Sworn Officers. As an officer in the Newport Beach Police Department you will have the opportunity to provide the highest level of service to a community that cherishes the quality of life that the city offers. We are a family of officers that are highly trained, well equipped, and have the privilege of being one of the highest paid agencies in Southern California.”
