Gooding, ID — In spite of the mountains of evidence showing medical cannabis to be successful in killing cancer cells, saving the lives of countless epileptic children, healing broken bones, relieving pain, treating PTSD, that it is not dangerous, and exhibits a variety of other incredible benefits – the state will kill you over it, or attempt to ruin your life. Kelsey Osborne, a mother of two from Idaho, is finding this out the hard way.
Osborne’s 3-year-old daughter Madyson suffers from severe seizures. And, up until last month, Osborne was treating those seizures with a cocktail of medication, including Risperdal, which is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Last month, Madyson’s seizures became so horrifying, that this frightened mother had nowhere else to turn.
“They would stop and come back, stop and come back with the hallucinations and everything else,” Osborne said.
So, being the caring and brave mother that she is, Osborne sought out a treatment that has been proven countless times to stop seizures in children — cannabis.
“To me, I felt like it was my last resort,” said Osborne, who maintains that she did the right thing. “I’ve seen it for my own eyes with people out of state who have used it and it’s helped them or their children.”
After exhausting all other options, Osborne gave Madyson a smoothie with a tablespoon cannabis butter in it. The results were, predictably, close to miraculous.
“Everything stopped 30 minutes later,” said Osborne.
However, saving your child’s life outside of the state-approved and often dangerous and ineffective pharmaceutical means — is illegal in Idaho. When Osborne took Madyson to the doctor a few hours after treating her, Madyson tested positive for marijuana. The see something say something doctor’s office then called the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
After successfully healing her child using cannabis, Osborne had both of her children taken from her and she was charged with misdemeanor injury to a child — for healing Madyson. Osborne has since pleaded not guilty, however, she has yet to see her children.
According to KTVB, Tom Shanahan with the Department of Health and Welfare says in any case dealing with marijuana, there is one bottom line.
“Marijuana is illegal, period,” said Shanahan, exhibiting the number one problem with law enforcement, the drug war, and the state in general — legality does not equal morality.
“Even in states that have legalized it it’s not legal to give to children,” said Shanahan. “The cannabis that is used for children with epilepsy is called cannabidiol oil and it has had THC removed from it.”
However, Shanahan conveniently ignores the fact that Idaho is in the stone age in regards to medical marijuana which makes the non-THC-containing version of cannabidiol oil illegal as well. So, thanks to the state of Idaho, Osborne had no other options.
She’s now being charged with a crime that the state forced her to commit by outlawing a treatment known to help children.
“I’m not going to stop,” Osborne said as she remains vigilant in the face of cruel medical tyranny.
In spite of the mountain of evidence showing the incredible benefits of cannabis, uniformed agents of the state will deprive you of your freedom for possessing it. Families are forced to become criminals to simply treat their children. Good people, like Kelsey Osborne, are persecuted and threatened with government sponsored violence for the mere act stopping their child’s suffering.
Families have become de facto refugees just so they can reap the amazing benefits of cannabis.
As the Free Thought Project reported in April, the Osborne’s are one of many families in this position. To treat their daughter’s myoclonic epilepsy, the Benton Family has been forced to move to Colorado. They had to leave their family, friends, and jobs behind so they can save their daughter’s life without worrying about police kicking in their door in the middle of the night, throwing flashbang grenades in their bedroom, and kidnapping and caging them.
Since she was 14 months old, Addyson Benton had a horrifying life, very similar to that of Madyson. Test results showed that she experienced over 1,000 seizures a day. The harmful and addictive prescription medication had no effect on Addyson’s seizures, so, like Osborne, the family sought out medical cannabis.
After trying CBD oil for the first time, Addyson “became a little girl again.” The results were nothing short of miraculous as Addyson was transformed immediately after her first dose.
How can these people sleep at night knowing that they are forcing children to suffer needlessly in the name of some archaic and racist law designed to target black people and hippies?
