As the Free Thought Project reported this week, a new report from the Tax Foundation reveals a rather startling fact: Americans will spend more on taxes in 2016 than they will on housing, food, and clothing — combined.
Today is the 15th of April, an infamous date in American culture and a day that epitomizes the horrid reality of facts in the study cited above. The 15th of April is the deadline for the citizens of the US to have computed how much of their hard-earned money they must either let the state keep, or how much they must surrender.
In my case, being a business owner, I both paid the state all year, and, because my business is successful, I had to pay taxes on what the state refers to as gross profit at the end of the year.
This money that the state claims I owe them, otherwise known as the income tax, does not go to roads, it does not go to infrastructure, schools, welfare, or any of the ostensible “benefits” the state “gives us.” This irresponsible group of sociopaths, addicted to the spreading of empire, and amassing massive deficits, forces me to pay for their terrible ability to manage money.
This money is forcefully stolen from me via the threat of violence for non-payment. If I refuse to pay the state “my fair share” armed men will break down my door, kidnap me and throw me in a cage. There is a reason the IRS has its own SWAT teams.
Don’t take our word for it, though, read about it in the MSM here.
After calculating the percentage of the money forcefully taken from me, under duress, I found it to be roughly 33 percent of everything our household took in during 2015.
I work on average 12 hours a day Monday through Friday, and 4-6 hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
My days start at 5 am. From 5 am until 9 am, Monday through Friday, 4 hours every day, I work solely for the US government; 2 hours a day on the weekends….every single day of the year.
If I extrapolate that rate over the course of the entire year, the total number of hours I am forced to work for the state equals 1,248. That equates to 104 straight days at 12 hours a day, or 156 eight-hour days. Yesterday was the 104th day of the year. Until today, I haven’t made a single penny, the state has claimed a right to all of it.
104 days, 12 hours a day, every year until I plan to retire equates to 24,960 hours, or 2080 days, or 5.7 years, that I am forced to work just to pay the state. And that’s not including anything else but income tax. If we rack up the dozens and dozens of other taxes we are forced to pay, that number becomes much larger.
The next 1/3 of my entire waking life will not be mine, it will be the state’s — and that’s if nothing changes. If history is any indicator, that rate of 33% will likely jump to 50% in the next ten years.
Meanwhile, the “lawmakers” and their elite friends continue to legislate themselves loopholes to avoid paying any taxes at all. And somehow, we still call this geographical region known as the USA, The Land of the Free?
