This is a parents worst nightmare. You bring your daughter to the hospital for the flu and hours later you are escorted out by police and told that the hospital now has custody of your daughter because you disagree with the diagnosis. And that is exactly what happened to Justina Pelletier and her family.

According to FOXCT,

Justina was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease a few years ago. It’s a genetic disorder that can cause loss of muscle coordination and weakness.

Despite that diagnosis she lived a normal life.

But last February, she also got the flu and was admitted to Boston Children’s Hospital to see her specialist.

Almost immediately, a different team of doctors delivered a different diagnosis, questioning the original diagnosis of mitochondrial disease.

This differing diagnosis has resulted in a custody battle between the hospital and the parents which has now been going on for over nine months.

Keeping a child from parents is kidnapping, bottom line. There is no justification for the disturbing and criminal actions of Boston Children's Hospital. The hospital claims that the parents were being too active in seeking treatment for their daughter.

As you read this Justina is being held against her will, her movement restricted, communication monitored and restricted, and only given a one hour long visit with her parents per week! Justina is forced to sneak letters out to her parents hidden in origami. How dare the hospital do this to a family? This is medical tyranny!
