Albuquerque, NM — The taxpayers of Albuquerque were put on notice this week that they will be held liable for the actions of one of their finest after he was seen on video attacking an innocent Native American man in front of his daughter — for smiling at him. The American Civil Liberties Union is suing New Mexico State Police and will undoubtedly win as the entire infuriating incident was captured on video.

The incident unfolded last year as Dametrio Maldonado was travelling to an event to volunteer with his daughter when he noticed a single car accident on the side of the road. Being the kind gentleman that he is, Maldonado stopped to help the victim.

“There was a young lady that was sitting on the beside the car crying profusely so I pulled up and stopped and told my daughter to get out and see if she could help her,” Maldonado said.

The good Samaritan then did what he thought he was supposed to do: he called the cops. Instead of helping, however, when the cops showed up, so did the tyranny.

As the video shows, instead of thanking him for helping, State Police officer Sondre Loberg showed up and immediately yelled at Maldonado to move his vehicle. Maldonado was obliging the officer’s request but noted that he was waiting for his daughter to walk back to the car. He smiled and told the tyrant cop that he was moving. But this cop apparently hates smiles.

“He yelled at me to move out of the way so I just nodded and smiled, you know. That’s just me—I smile,” Maldonado said. “He got enraged when I smiled.”

When Maldonado moved his vehicle, Loberg immediately pulled the good Samaritan over and all hell broke loose.

Remember, Maldonado had done nothing wrong, had been polite, and was actually the hero in this situation for helping a crash victim. His good deeds and niceness, however, were apparently too much for this tyrant to handle.

As the officer’s dash cam shows, he immediately starts berating the innocent father in front of his daughter, demanding his license and insurance. The cop then removes Maldonado from his vehicle.

“Step in front of my unit. Right in front of it. Put your hands on there, both of them,” Loberg is heard saying on the video.

This tyrant cop then proceeds to shove the innocent father down, assaulting him, as he forced handcuffs on him.

“Complete confusion, you know?  You’re like, why is this guy so enraged and why is he yelling at me?” Maldonado said.

Loberg then accuses Maldonado of drinking and throws him in the back of the cruiser. For smiling at him, this cop held an innocent man in his cruiser for over 20 minutes as he questioned his daughter. Once he realized he had nothing to charge the innocent father with, he was forced to let him go, but it was much to his chagrin.

“You’re looking at me with a grin on your face and I don’t take that as politeness, I take that as a big f**k you, you understand?” said Loberg.

“I took the handcuffs off because I’m giving you a break, but if you keep running your mouth I’m going to change my mind here,” this tyrant cop adds.

Just like that, this officer — who people will claim ‘protects’ society — had assaulted and kidnapped a good Samaritan for smiling at him. The next time someone tells you, “if you don’t do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about,” show them this article. You can be the hero in a situation and be completely polite and even cheerful, and the tyrant class will still violate your rights.

Despite video of this very unsettling and unlawful incident, tyrant Loberg is still on regular duty and never received so much as a slap on the wrist for his violent actions. The taxpayers will be held accountable instead.

“This kind of incident where he’s asking Mr. Maldonado if you’re drunk reflects in based on everything that we know about police misconduct,” explained Preston Sanchez with the ACLU. “Based on everything we know about interactions between community and law enforcement. A racial bias toward Maldonado. Based on the color of his skin. Based on how he looks. Based on the geographic location at the time of the stop.”
